25.01.2022 This is a major project that we have payed a big part in getting together with the construction of the panels for these movable planter boxes. This morning we started putting them together with the help of the other contractors moving the panels on pellets to the site from the Men's Shed. The last photo is a glimpse of how they will look.

23.01.2022 The Weekly Update. A selection of some of the job that we have finish this week are the ply wood monument for R.S.L. of Ellenbrook, an easel for a disabled artist and a signboard for a local business. The engineering work shop has not been high lighted much of late so I thought I now will take this opportunity to tell you that it is like the wood working shop fully equipped with gas and electric welders, two lathes, a mini mill and much more. The last photo is of Rob and Rodn...ey. Rob has been a member of the Men's Shed for a long time now and now the he is unable to walk that is not a problem. Rodney has had major cancer surgery and has lost an eye due to this that is not a problem. 21.01.2022 Julie's easel was delivered to day after having it made by Colin at the Ellenbrook and Districts Men's Shed. She was very happy to have it deviered and set up by David Ayre today. Julie is a very gifted artist that was in need of a new easel after giving hers to a fellow artist that lost all of his art business, from paintings, brushes, paints and his easel in a bush fire. With being diabled with a disfigured left hand and now after a car accident problems with her back she needed an easel that she could sit down at to paint. The thanks to Colin and the Men's Shed was accepted by David and will be past on to Colin and all at the Ellenbrook and Districts Men's Shed.

18.01.2022 Member of The Week. In the engineering work shop Les plays a very important role providing his great amount of knowledge and skills that have been built up over many years in the engineering trades. With service on navy ships and as well as working in other areas of heavy engineering he is a very important part of the team in the engineering work shop. On another note Les has been part of the Ellenbrook Men's Shed right from it's conception. This just goes to show that at 90... years of age one can still play a very important role helping and providing guidance to others and in return get the benefits of recognition of ones effort and sharing a laugh with friends. Feeling needed and having a good laugh is very beneficial for good health and I think that Les is testimony to that. Regards to all, David See more

12.01.2022 With the making of my painting panels at the Ellenbrook and Districts Men's Shed, and now I am wanting to improve the my paintings by providing the best quality product at the best price. At the same time paying for this I have to up my prices of my painting so that this can be passed on to the Men's Shed. My small nightly paintings will now be $30.00 with a large part of this being passed on the the Men's Shed. At $30.00 for an original ready to hang painting I think still is great value and knowing that with every purchase a large part is going to the Men's Shed i am sure that you can see that it is good for all. 12.01.2022 The next turning job will be finished tomorrow. THIS IS SOLD This is a chunk of Japanese Pepper Tree that was found dumped in the area over the road from the Men's Shed. This is a large display goblet that would look good maybe on the Christmas table with nuts in it. When it is finished I will post with a price. Regards to all.

11.01.2022 Hi everyone, My Art for tonight. I'm at the next stage on the oriental style hall table that I am working on. To get a general idea of who it will look I placed 'The Question Mark' on it. This as a fusion of a painting with a piece of furniture is something different and I am really enjoying together skills that i have learnt. I started making the back section to fit the painting into. The cut a to make the groove I used a mortice cutting drill. Just as I started cutting the... second piece a bolt snapped. I repaired this ready to get back into getting the back section finished tomorrow. The back section will be able to be removed for making it easier for transport. 07.01.2022 Hi everyone, My Artwork for tonight. Up date on the oriental style hall table. The Oregon laminate pieces are now in place. The four panels for the front, sides and back are all together and the top ply panel is in place. Last thing I glued in pine centres of the legs. These will be covered with the Oregon laminate with the grain of the front pattern. Also the Oregon and Mahogany hall table got it third coat of gloss varnish ready for it to be picked up next week. 03.01.2022 The Weekly Update. Hi to everyone it's been another busy week at "The Shed" with jobs being completed for customers and this to place in our show room for sale. Big items this week were a 'Cubby' frame, an easel and the real big one was the ply wood ANZAC memorial for the Ellenbrook Rotary. There was other things being made as will but these are just some of the type of projects that we do.... 02.01.2022 Hi everyone, My Art today at the Men's Shed. Strange how this turned out! I started off thinking that I would get the two panels that are the same done today. With the sanding of the first coat of mat white done I gave both of them a final airbrushing of the mat white. Just as I was going to start on the first abstract horse, one of the guys at the Shed said that a easel had just been dropped off.... Then I started on with the painting on this easel. Rod, the toy maker was running behind with one of his jobs that had been sold and he asked me for some help. Prioritizing in any situation as we all know makes for the best out come.
