20.01.2022 Everyone's life has similarities, yet they are vastly different. I've wanted to be a mum my whole life. I never really thought about a career because it was irrelevant to me. I was always going to be a stay at home mum, or at least I thought. I also thought I would have bought a house, be married at 21, go travelling, kids by 25 and enjoy this blissful existence. ... Instead, I went to work in childcare at 17, went to college at 21, got dumped at 24, started my business, graduated college, met the love of my life, moved out of home, went travelling at 25, moved interstate 4 times, got married at 29 and been trying for a baby for over a year. Not all of that has been blissful, but the large majority was unbelievably amazing and it's mine. Everyone's hopes and dreams may differ but I believe the goal is the same. Love, fulfillment and happiness. That first "dream" I pictured as my bliss NEVER would have fulfilled me. Not even close. But you try telling my old self that, oohhhh she would have killed you! Amongst the fact that I would have ended up divorced or worse, married and miserable. Living a life never knowing who the fuck I was to begin with is just crazy to me now. None of that is fulfilling! None of that even shines a light on what I have now. So I guess what I'm getting at in a really long winded, over sharing way is, I don't always know best. Even when I'm adamant. Even when I'll fight you over it. Plus I like the challenge of being in the spot, but that doesn't always mean that all the food in the fridge gets utilised or our nutritional needs get met. 12.01.2022 SMUDGING Smudging has been done in almost every culture for thousands of years. But here in Oz I feel we are grossly missing out on an opportunity. We are bombarded with products like Palo Santo (which is from South America) and Californian White Sage to solve all our smudging needs. I disagree. These products work beautifully but what about the environmental impact?... Both these products are grown overseas, sold and shipped to wholesalers in Asia then brought to Australia, heavily fumagated then sold to the consumer. Plus, the harvesting of these plants can also be highly unethical. When our First Nations people perform a smoking ceremony, they're not using Californian White Sage, they're utilising the energetic and cleansing properties of our native plants. Eucalyptus, tea tree, wattle, paper bark are all around us and can be sourced sustainably and with no air miles. I love to grow my own herbs, the ones I've chosen have deep meaning and relevance to me. Making way more effective in serving my needs. Rosemary, Sage, Thyme, Lemon, Mint are all there in my garden boosting the nutrition and flavour of our food while also being harvested and grown to cleanse, protect and calm the space I burn them in. The point I'm making is when using products to enhance your magical practices do your research. Buy local or if you can grow/make your own please do. The environment and the magic in your rituals will be much better for it. You want to say no, you try to say no but you're somehow still getting into your car going to pick this thing up even though you didn't want to or necessarily agree to. Why do we do this? From where I'm standing, it's a problem with boundaries.... For some people this lack of boundary has a huge debilitating effect on their lives. They have no self worth & saying yes to please others is the only way they can feel seen, even though it's completely exhausting & striping them of their life. EVERY RELATIONSHIP needs & thrives with healthy boundaries. Parents and children-including into adulthood Partners Employer to employees Friends Without your personally boundaries being strong and in place all of these relationships are out of balance for you. You're doing all the giving, all the compromising, all the "whatever I'll just do it" to keep the damn peace, but where's your peace baby? Who's giving to you? Probably noone, you're too busy being the go to and you're secretly pissed that noone is seeing you and that you need them but you haven't communicated, you haven't put in place with your relationships that this is something you require. So the fools continue on their merry way as you're left feeling alone & used. THINGS THAT CAN HELP Figuring out what you want your boundaries within each relationship to look like. Understanding why your boundaries have been weakened (I can help with this & the releasing of them through a pendulum session). Taking small steps. Instead of saying yes, say "No worries, leave it with me & I'll get back to you on that." Then get back to them & say no if you don't want to do it. Forgive yourself. You're not weak, you're incredibly kind but now it's time to use that kindness upon yourself.

05.01.2022 How will you nurture yourself this weekend? Think about it that question. I didn't say nourish or zone out, I said Nurture. I'm lucky enough to still be friends with my lecturers from college and the wonderfully insightful Kayla asked me (when I called her in a tizzy), how are you nurturing yourself? ... That's not a concept I'd ever applied to myself, I can nurture others without a second thought, I've been doing that my whole life. All the jobs I've ever been in were and are deeply nurturing roles. But to apply that to me seemed completely foreign. But why? Don't we need nurturing too? Don't we need to hold ourselves before holding everyone else? Aren't we sick of repeating the same dang pattern? (Thanks for the kick up the bum Kayla) So I've been practising. This weekend we're all home together so I'm going the beech, eat ice cream, hang out with mates, snuggle my 50kg puppy and incredibly gorgeous husband. When I'm by myself, nurturing myself looks more like going to my fav coffee place and getting an almond cappuccino, gardening while listening to 90's music, venturing out into our new home city and finding something special like a waterfall or something, and watching movies from my childhood (Holy crap I'm old and boring). None of these things are revolutionary, but they nurture my soul, my body and calm my mind. 01.01.2022 Friday reflections. . There is so much to be done. On all levels there's just so much. I could give up sleep and keep working through every night and still not be done. . But that's not sustainable, or fun. So balance is required. I've had a big push by clients to open my books to the weekends. I'm so grateful that people want to see me, but I stand firm in my no. ... . I'm fortunate enough that I like my husband and I want to spend time with him at night and weekends. He and Turbo are my family here in this strange place, that is our time to reconnect. . While I reflect on things this Friday morning, my musings are telling me to reinforce my boundaries and stick to them. That saying NO is ok. That saying NO without justifying or feeling guilty is totally acceptable and that saying NO gives me freedom and balance. Which in turn will make me a better reader for my clients. .
