24.01.2022 I hope you get a giggle out of this... What you're watching here is my very first ever attempt @ Crab on the Mat during one of @lesley.logan OPC classes. I've always thought it was just a weird ass exercise, but it was was harder than I thought and heaps of fun!! Will definitely be adding it to my repertoire. See, I'm Contemporary trained and this is a very Classical excercise, but during this last #7daysofopc I've really gained a solid appreciation for Classical work as Jos...eph originally taught it. He really was a great man. On a side note... How patient is dear Ruby dog, this wasn't the first time during this class that she copped my feet into her head

Pilates makes amazing humans. And the world needs more amazing humans and less assholes. So the more people doing Pilates, the closer we come to world peace. 23.01.2022 Put your hands up if you're excited for the weekend I especially love weekends' because they often mean adventures with my family ... Lately some serious gardening / landscaping has been the focus of our weekends and my husband's Permaculture plan is taking shape And I can tell you, none of this would be anywhere near as fun, or perhaps even possible, if it wasn't for Pilates. 7 years ago Pilates came into my life for the second time and while that's a story I'll share with you another day, I can tell you this, it just made everything better. 10.01.2022 D I V E I N Have you ever been to the beach on a sunny winter day and been tempted to take a dip but talked yourself out of it because it might be too cold? What if, instead, you stripped off, ran flat out into waist deep water and dove in head first? ... Yes, the water is cold, but once you're in, it's not that bad. You're immersed to you ears in salty goodness and every fibre of your being is awakened and energised by the fresh, clean, cool water You have a little splash around and then make your way to the sand to lie in the sun and soak up some rays The warmth of the sun smoothes out the goosebumps that had appeared on your skin and you appreciate that golden orb in the sky even more than before Smiling from ear to ear and feeling energised, refreshed and ready to take on the world, you step into your dry clothes, feeling warm and fuzzy and so damn proud of yourself. Your day just got times better. The moral of this story? What if... next time you faced something that scared you, or seemed like too much effort... you dove in head first? Today, that's what I did. I didn't feel like doing my daily practice, but I thought about how amazing I would feel afterwards. So I dove in, feet (footwork) first (sorry, little Pilates joke there ) and guess what? I felt amazing. Made my day Tell me about when you've dived into something you almost talked yourself out of Or something that your scared of and you need a little push to get you over the edge? 09.01.2022 W H A T ~ I S ~ P I L A T E S ? Pilates is an exercise system and movement therapy named after Joseph Pilates, who originally developed the method and called it Contrology. Pilates aims to balance and strengthen the body uniformly, focusing on functionally strengthening the body's deep stabilising system and postural alignment, plus the integration of mind and body.... Suitably qualified instructors specialise in movement and exercise, conditioning and correction and have a good understanding of human anatomy and biomechanics. The impacts Pilates can have on core stability and strength, functional movement, injury/condition rehabilitation and management are unique and extensive. When attending a session with me, I tailor each session to meet the specific needs of the participants, addressing the entire body, the mind and breath and all ranges of movement, using a system that allows us to build from basic to more challenging over a period of time.

01.01.2022 ~ S T U D I O ~ S E S S I O N S ~ What happens in a Studio Session? Magic Or something like it ... As each Studio Session is limited to just 3 participants, and each session is tailored specifically for your needs, you can be assured your body is getting exaclty what it needs (and nothing that it doesn't!) You will utilise one of the large pieces of Pilates apparatus (Reformer, Cadillac/Trapeze or Wunda Chair) as well as some mat based exercises, possibly with smaller Pilates props such as the swiss ball or hand weights in an individualised workout that is custom designed especially for your needs. You share your session with only 2 others, with my expert guidance, feedback and eagle eyes never far away (so there's no cheating!) These sessions are fantastic for those who are aiming to increase strength and flexibility (i.e. everyone!), rehabilitating from injury, experiencing chronic pain, are wanting to increase athletic performance and also very beneficial during pregnancy. My aim is that you leave feeling strong, lengthened and free of tension *You must complete an Initial Consultation and at least 2 Solo Sessions or have experience using all of the Pilates apparatus prior to joining these sessions. *Studio Sessions may not be suitable for those with certain injuries/conditions, in which case Solo Sessions would be suitable (this will be assessed during your Initial Consulation). 01.01.2022 REACH EXTEND Let me tell you a little secret... I have a 'bad' back. Well at least that's what some people might call it. What do I call it? My back. Which, like the rest of my body, needs mindful movement and loving attention. Do I let it rule my life? Hell NO. Do I enjoy a life full of movement and adventures? YES!!... How? Enter Pilates... Which I began a love affair with nearly 20 years ago (must've been just a baby when I started, right )!! And boy oh boy has that love affair deepened since @lesley.logan came into my life. I am reaching and extending in ways I thought were lost to me, and I don't just mean my body during these past #4days of #7daysofopc. Which is hard core (#dadjoke intended). Since signing up for @profitablepilates , I have a renewed passion for teaching and getting bodies MOVING Bless you Lesley and Brad.
