25.01.2022 Whenever I cast my mind back over my life, it’s always been the most difficult moments that have propelled me into the greatest growth - however painful. But I don’t think we’re taught to be able to sit with our shit. We’re taught to move away from it, to be ‘positive’, to replace perceived ‘negative’ thoughts with better ones, to be grateful for what we have (that’s not part of the ‘difficulty’). But why? ... Ancient cultures knew the healing power of experiencing painful feelings - of deeply grieving when losing a loved one, of following our anger to its source and utilising its energy for change, of being with our fear until it becomes courage. When did we become so terrified of ourselves? Of how we feel? It’s almost as if our cultural narrative has somehow externalised our so called ‘negative’ feelings into imposters that we need to ward off at all cost. But the truth is that to be fully alive, we will experience all our feeling states: if we allow ourselves to deeply love another person, then we will eventually grieve the loss of that love because human life is limited; if we want to create something we must face the fear of potential failure; if we feel anger that will show us where something is out of alignment in our lives - whether that be people, jobs, situations, boundaries. I honestly believe that if we were to transform our relationship with our so called ‘negative’ feeling states and start to recognise them as a part of the human experience, we could transform our relationships with each other and potentially change the world. Ongoing emotional repression creates projection, defensiveness, anxiety and uses a shitload of energy that could be channeled into creating the lives we want to live

24.01.2022 I love the Dalai Lama. He’s awesome, especially in person. But my own personal healing journey, my experience of working with people, and my education all disagrees with this comment. Anger is just anger. Yes if we repress it, it undermines our immune system. Yes if we project it onto others it can be destructive. But it is natural and if we can change our relationship with anger to one of acceptance and curiosity, we can utilise it for incredible healing. Our anger is always telling us something, if we choose to listen. It can also motivate us to bring about change in our lives. Telling ourselves that we can’t be angry is shaming. Deeply shaming. What is your anger trying to tell you? Anger in itself is not the problem; it’s what we do with it.

21.01.2022 R U OK? I was first under psychiatric care at the tender age of 13 after a string of attempted overdoses that began when I was 8 years of age. Life was tough. There was tidal wave after tidal wave of trauma. It was relentless. I look back and wonder how I got through. ... Mostly people remember me as a joyful person. And I am. I am deeply loving and tend towards always seeing the funny side of everything. A strength, but also something that covered up my deep pain. I was in so much pain I wanted to die but hardly anyone realised because I was a master at coping. Please dont cope. Please reach out. I was lucky that I was never successful at taking my own life. I look at my life now, which I love so much, and Im eternally grateful that Im still here. Yes I have bad days, yes I fuck things up, but Im human and Ive grown to love my humanness and my messiness. It takes me to deeper depths of love. I teach people how to fall in love with themselves. Perhaps thats the soul path I was always on. A lot of meditation is about transcending our bodies; tapping into the unbound potential of the universe. I believe we can find this within our bodies. 15.01.2022 What is Somatic Therapy? Experiencing trauma can elicit responses of fear, pain, grief or anger and will often result in a feeling of powerlessness. This feeling of powerlessness can often mean the response becomes trapped in our nervous system which prevents their release and sees feelings of trauma stay with us for a prolonged time. ... Somatic Therapy is a process in which, supported by me, clients are gently guided to access these unreleased responses to the trauma which allows for the release of the trapped and negative energies from the nervous system. Such a release can have a deeply positive effect on our emotional wellbeing as your body that was previously overrun with emotion, can return to a stable and comfortable place in which you are able to feel safe and confident in.
