25.01.2022 Sunningdale Primary School Project achieves PC EMCO Building’s Sunningdale Primary School Project has achieved Practical Completion and will now be known as Yanchep Rise Primary School. This exciting new school facility consists of an Administration Building, Library Block, Staff Room Block, four (4) Teaching Blocks, Covered Assembly, Canteen Block, and Music Room, along with External Works and Services.... School staff are delighted with the high quality of finishes delivered by EMCO Building and are excited to use their new facilities in preparation of the new school year. The four (4) teaching blocks include fifteen (15) classrooms along with Arts and Craft and Inclusive Education facilities. The new school will accommodate approximately 430 students and 40 staff from Kindergarten through to Year 6. Congratulations to the project team comprising Michael Faulkner (Project Manager), Tom Tully (Contracts Administrator), and Michael Cross (Site Manager). 24.01.2022 Cockburn Fire & Emergency Services Fire Station Project reaches PC EMCO Building’s Cockburn Fire & Emergency Services Fire Station Project has achieved Practical Completion 10 months after construction began in last year. The project management team of Justin De Pardo (Project Manager), Mark Ardley (Contracts Administrator), and Alex Forbes (Site Manager) delivered a magnificent facility. Special mention also goes to Zoe Woods who worked on the delivery of the facilities in ...the early stages of the project. The state-of-the-art fire station will soon serve the needs of the growing Cockburn community and operate as the new home for firefighters from the Success Fire and Rescue Service. The project comprises dormitories, covered carpark, gym, dining, vehicle washout, rescue pad, and specialised training tower. In addition to the facility’s construction, EMCO Building was also required to upgrade and extend the ministers sewer 110m from the main chamber located to the west of the site. The ground conditions within the area resulted in nearly 5 months of sewer works with continued dewatering of the site. The new station has been designed to meet the current demands and needs of the community while being future-proofed to accommodate future population growth and changes to the urban landscape of Cockburn and the surrounding areas. 23.01.2022 Yanchep Secondary College Stage 2 reaches PC Following the successful delivery of Separable Portion 1 (SP1) in July 2020, EMCO Building’s is happy to announce that the Yanchep Secondary College (Stage 2) Project has been completed after achieving Practical Completion for Separable Portion 2 (SP2). The remainder of the refurbished facilities have now been handed over alongside the previously completed new Performing Arts building. ... Overall, the contract included the construction of a new Performing Arts Block and refurbishments to the existing Technologies Block (D Block). This comprised upgrading the engineering, metalwork, and woodwork workshops, a new commercial food workshop, prep areas, and a new mechatronics studio. Minor refurbishments also included the health education block to incorporate a fitness centre and revised health education classrooms. External works forming part of this contract include new carparks, drainage civil works, a drop off loop (located north of the existing administration block), and both soft and hard landscaping. 20.01.2022 Kiara College Contract won by EMCO EMCO Building is pleased to announce it has secured a new $10m state government contract (through the Department of Finance) to complete the main construction, additions, and improvement works to Kiara College. EMCO Building’s contract forms part of the government’s $21 million Kiara College redevelopment project. The project comprises 12 hectares of land being transferred to the college for its farm program in addition to the Main Works a...warded to EMCO Building. These works include construction of new facilities (performing arts centre and covered outdoor basketball courts) as well as alterations and refurbishments to the existing school (medical centre, physical education staff room, and home economic studios). External facades of some buildings will also be upgraded, while the onsite carpark will gain 23 additional bays. EMCO Building is scheduled to complete the work by September next year. 20.01.2022 Aegis Shoreline Residential Care Facility achieves PC EMCO Building’s Aegis Shoreline Residential Care Facility Project has achieved Practical Completion. Construction of the new 3-storey Aged Care Facility in North Coogee was completed in 23 months. The facility comprises 238 beds, all with ensuite bathrooms, as well as nursing stations, hydrotherapy rooms sensory rooms, doctors suites, treatments rooms, activity therapy rooms, laundry amenities, and commercial kitchens. The... state-of-the-art facility also includes dining rooms, lounges, theatres, hair salon, men’s shed, and associated administration facilities. EMCO Building’s project team did a magnificent job on such a complex project. As the facility was constructed in a coastal area and adjacent to a busy rail line, particular attention was paid to the building materials and structural solutions utilised to minimise maintenance and the impacts of weather, noise, and vibration. Additionally, EMCO Building delivered the project adhering strict regulations relating to accessibility and compliance, to deliver an visually appealing, architecturally designed facility. 19.01.2022 SOUTH REGIONAL TAFE ESPERANCE - NEW REPLACEMENT CAMPUS UPDATE EMCO Building’s new project in Esperance is in its infancy and just getting out of the ground. This new $16.2m project incorporates the construction of (4) four teaching blocks that include special purpose classrooms, computer laboratories, and simulated industry training environments for community services and nursing/aged care. The project also includes landscaping, car parking, and associated works. ... As most of the completed work done thus far is buried, there really isn’t much to see at this stage. The pads for the four (4) main buildings have now been completed along with the road base for the crossovers and carparks. After the initial clearing of the site, approximately 10,000m3 of fill was delivered which brought the pads up to the required levels. Hydraulic services are well underway with the installation of both the sewer mains and fire services nearing completion. Prelays for three of the four building pads have been finalised and 60% of the footings to the industrial training area have been poured. Despite the rain, the team has started prepping for the ground slabs to be poured this week. The EMCO Building Project team is pleased to report that progress has been excellent and we are on program as planned. 18.01.2022 EMCO BUILDING AWARDED CONTRACT FOR WORLD-CLASS DEVELOPMENT IN PORT KENNEDY EMCO Building is pleased to announce it has been awarded the construction contract to the Kennedy Bay Golf Club House Project as part of a multi-million dollar transformation of the Port Kennedy coastline. Developers of Kennedy Bay, Western Australia Beach and Golf Resort, confirmed EMCO Building as their construction partner with the clubhouse project scheduled for completion in September 2021.... Designed by Gresley Abas (known for the award-winning Wembley Golf Course), the EMCO Building’s scope of works involves the demolition of the existing clubhouse buildings and the construction of a new golf clubhouse, restaurant, and carpark to be delivered in (2) two separable portions to minimise disruption and to ensure the nine-hole course remains open to golfers throughout its transformation. The new clubhouse will be set into the existing landscape with a restaurant/café/bar incorporating alfresco dining, featuring natural finishes such as timber cladding, floor to ceiling commercial grade glazed elements, honed concrete floors internally, exposed aggregate concrete paths externally, and a high level of fully reticulated landscaped areas surrounding the building and newly formed car parking areas. In addition to these features, the clubhouse includes state of the art change rooms, admin/reception area, and a decorative breezeway leading from the pro-shop to the golf course entry point. 13.01.2022 EMCO takes out MBA awards Last Saturday night saw another stellar performance by EMCO Building at the West Australian Master Builders 2020 Excellence in Construction Awards. EMCO Building won big with two (2) prestigious awards for its work on the Alkimos College Project. Project Manager Justin De Pardo was excited to accept the awards for Best Education Building and Best Government Building both in the $20 million to $50 million category.... It’s a credit to the EMCO project team, CA’s Mark Ardley and Zoe Woods, Site Manager’s Jon Martin and Diego Martinez, and Leading Hand Emelio Temese, for their outstanding commitment, backed by the EMCO office and our fantastic sub-contractors, suppliers, and consultants. Construction of Stage 1 of the $40m Alkimos College Project was completed in November 2019 and comprised of four (4) 2-storey buildings with a total of floor space of 21,700m. Designed by Taylor Robinson Chaney Broderick, the broad ranging requirements of the project proved to be both challenging and rewarding to the EMCO team. 10.01.2022 Cockburn Career Fire Station Update Work on the $ 8.5m Fire Station project is progressing well with the EMCO Building CCFS team having completed the structural steel framing, roof framing, and external stud framing to the Main Building Appliance Bay and Dormitory Building. Current works are progressing as planned including internal wall framing, mechanical ducting, plumbers tube-out, external cladding, and electrical wiring. The 8m deep sewer works continue after extensive ...pre-planning and coordination. Stage 1 of the works is complete while the Stage 2 drill pit is currently boring to the next sewer pit 150m from site. The Stage 3 pit is currently being excavated. The EMCO Building team’s HSE procedures and onsite assessments have ensured this high-risk work is completed safely and efficiently. Additionally, the Carpark structural steel is complete and blockwork walls are underway. The Training Tower suspended slab has also been completed along with the commencement of the 2nd and 3rd floor structural steel. EMCO Building’s commitment to minimising any disruption to neighbours and the local community, continues to ensure we maintain a strong relationship with all stakeholders in the area. The project location is ideal for large scale construction. Unidirectional access into the site lends itself to streamlined management of site works. Given the proximity to mild/heavy traffic to North Lake Rd, this element is key to ensuring nil disruption to the public. 08.01.2022 AEGIS Shoreline Aged Care Facility Update EMCO Building’s AEGIS Aged Care Development is one step closer to completion with the project on schedule for Practical Completion at the end of the year. Externally, the building façade finishes are nearing completion. The majority of the project’s scaffolding has now been stripped and hard-landscaping work has subsequently commenced.... Internally, all floor levels are now at the finishes stage with fit-off progressing well throughout. Trades working on the upper floors continue to enjoy the fantastic views of North Coogee. 06.01.2022 38 Glyde St, Mosman Park New Residential Apartments & Commercial Shopfront Getting closer to the finish line. External scaffold has been removed allowing landscaping to start on the Ground Floor & Level 1. ... Level 1 are 95% completed with the display apartment almost ready for reviewing. Level 2 & 3 are 95% complete, lining up for defecting. Level 4 & 5 timber flooring ongoing with final fit off of all lights, fixtures, and fittings moving ahead. Roof Terrace tiling progressing and soon to start landscaping. The winter months have been challenging with continuous rain making it difficult to finish external Acratex walls and to remove the scaffold. As a result, EMCO Building has adopted other methods to complete works out of sequence and is still on target for completion in December. Our commitment to minimising any disruption to neighbours and the local community continues to ensure a strong relationship with all stakeholders in the area.
