16.01.2022 When I came to Australia in 2006, I struggled so much that now I can even write a book on those painful days and nights that I went through. During those days, I worked in World Vision for a month. It was a door-to-door marketing job in which we had to convince people to sponsor poor children. I was extremely bad at the job and hardly managed to get 2-3 sponsors a week, whereas my colleagues used to get 2-3 a day. Anyway, a boy from Punjab named Sukhdeep was our team leader. ...One day, just the day before EID, when I finished work, he suddenly approached me and said, "Emdad, as I know you’re hardly earning anythingl, I'm sure you don't have much money to celebrate EID tomorrow. Take my bank card. Withdraw $300-$400 from the ATM over there. Return the money whenever you can." These unexpected words from him made my eyes wet. This event is really significant at that particular stage of my life as weeks before this, we were virtually homeless for a few days. I returned Sukhdeep's money some time later. Unfortunately somehow I lost his number when I left World Vision. I heard from someone that he started driving taxis. If anyone happens to know him, please tell him that Emdad is still grateful to him for his extraordinarily loving and caring behaviour. P. S., As you can see in the photograph, I found Sukhdeep after 11 years in 2017, with the help of Naval, one of my students, who happened to be his relative and told him about this post.

15.01.2022 I'm afraid we can't make a decision about the opening of our Melbourne branches until we consult Business Victoria (https://www.business.vic.gov.au) tomorrow. I'll update you as soon as I've talked to them in shaa Allah. However, our Online Classes will be held as per our regular timetable tomorrow. Thank you.
12.01.2022 Are you REACTIVE or PROACTIVE? My favourite author Stephen Covey talks about two types of people. Reactive & proactive. Instead of defining these two groups of people, let me tell you how they talk. This way you’ll understand them better. Read the following sentences and think which type you belong to. Reactive People: If only I had had a better upbringing!... Proactive People: My parents did their best. I’m thankful to them. Now it’s my turn to take control of my life. Reactive People: If only I had studied Computer Science instead of Maths. Proactive People: If I’m not doing well in Maths, it’s not because Maths doesn’t have good prospects. There are plenty of Maths professionals in the world at present who are doing extraordinarily well. On the contrary, there are lots of computer scientists or engineers who are struggling to find a good job. So, it’s not about the subjects but about me and only me. Reactive People: If only my wife was a little more understanding, my life would be so good! Proactive People: My wife is who she is. She is not my subordinate. I don’t care whether she understands me or not. It’s not in my control. But I can control my own actions. Instead of waiting for her to understand me, I’ll try to understand her and do everything possible to keep her happy. Things are bound to change sooner or later. Reactive People: If only the weather was good today! Proactive People: I don’t care how the weather is. It’s beyond my control. I can carry my own weather with myself. If I get my PR on a rainy day, will I feel sad sitting idle at home or go out to celebrate with my friends? I guess I know the answer. If that’s the case, why will I wait for a sunny day to put in my best efforts? I’ll work harder irrespective of the weather. Reactive People: If only I had come to Australia a few years earlier! Proactive People: Can I change my past? Of course not. Then why will I even waste a second thinking about that? What I can do is change my future. And that’s what I’m going to do. I’ll do everything I can to face my current challenges smartly, effectively, sincerely and wholeheartedly so that I don’t regret later. Reactive People: If only people understood me more! Proactive People: I want others to understand me and behave accordingly in this selfish world! If I think like this, I’m nothing but a child. I have yet to grow up. I don’t expect people to understand me. In fact, I expect nothing from others. I learn to take care of myself. And surprisingly, one of the best ways to take care of myself is to understand those very people who fail to understand me and feel empathy for them. Also, expecting people to understand me is like leaving the key to my happiness with others, which is a sign of immaturity. I don’t let others control my happiness. I study human psychology, understand myself first and then others. I control my own happiness, in shaa Allah.
10.01.2022 An Update on Today’s PTE & IELTS Sessions (Tuesday, 10 November 2020): I’m afraid I haven’t been able to log in to our PTE or IELTS groups since morning, and so couldn’t post any class link or anything else (like this update) in those groups. So, I'm writing it here. As soon as the problem is resolved, I’ll start posting the class links. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. However, there's something you can do until then. There are at least 500+ sessions (yes, you've read it right! 500+) available in the online groups which can help you finish the whole course at least 50 times. Watch any 2 weeks’ classes consecutively to finish the course once. Keep exploring and keep learning.
08.01.2022 An Important Update about opening our Melbourne Branches (9 November 2020): I regret to inform you all that Business Victoria (https://www.business.vic.gov.au/) has categorically denied our request to open our Melbourne branches at the moment. If we open our Melbourne branches now, we’ll incur a huge fine as it’ll be tantamount to defying the instruction of the Chief Health Officer of Victoria. We’ve been instructed to wait until the end of this month and enquire again. However, our Perth and Auburn branches are open for face-to-face classes. Our Online Classes will also run in full swing until we are allowed to open our Melbourne branches. Just one little change in PTE online timetable though: Session 1 will be held from 8.30am to 9.30am from now.

06.01.2022 ALHAMDULILLAH! What a Relief! 05.01.2022 In foggy or rainy weather, when we crave the sun and the long-awaited sun suddenly comes out of hibernation, dramatically turning the chilly rainy weather into a bright sunny day, we become so excited that we completely forget the inclement weather no matter how long and painful it was. On the other hand, on a hot summer day, when we’re in dire need of some relief and a splash of rain coupled with soothing winds comes from nowhere, dramatically turning the scorching heat into... a pleasant feeling, we feel so relieved that we unknowingly forget and forgive the heat that was responsible for our suffering only a while ago. SIMILARLY, when you succeed tomorrow, the sufferings and predicaments you’re going through today, no matter how difficult and painful they are, will be washed away with strong positive emotional feelings that your success will bring. For example, a mother’s 9-month-long unbearable pains disappear as soon as she touches and kisses her beloved newborn; a father’s continuous sacrifice of his own comfort doing extra hours at work, only to make his son’s dream of becoming an engineer come true, is soon compensated with an overwhelming feeling of pride and accomplishment, when the son successfully becomes an engineer. Let’s understand this core philosophy of life and start working hard shaking off all negative thoughts and worries. In shaa Allah, you are bound to be successful!
02.01.2022 Weekend PTE Classes in Footscray: In tomorrow’s 5-hour Weekend Class in Footscray (8am to 1pm), in shaa Allah I’ll not only finish the whole week’s materials and take a Pearson Speaking Practice Test to demonstrate the new Speaking strategies that I devised this week, but also select one of you to take your next PTE test on me, which means I’ll pay for your next PTE test. See you at 8am tomorrow in shaa Allah.
02.01.2022 What We’re Going To Do Tomorrow (Wednesday, 31 May 2021): PTE: In shaa Allah in all sessions in Footscray tomorrow, I’ll do the entire LISTENING section and explain in detail which questions to skip and which questions to spend more time on.... If Listening is where you need help, attend any of the 3 sessions in Footscray tomorrow (9.30am to 11am, 2pm to 3.30pm & 6pm to 7.30pm). IELTS: In shaa Allah in both the IELTS sessions in Footscray tomorrow, apart from doing a Listening Mock test, we’ll do a Problem Solution essay following our fixed format. If Writing is where you’re struggling the most, attend either of the sessions in Footscray tomorrow (11am to 12.30pm & 5pm to 6.30pm).
