24.01.2022 Happy Friday everyone. The course is open for play and ideal conditions for golf. Bar opens at 11am and lunch is also available. Have a great day. Cheers Pete from the pro shop.

23.01.2022 As reported earlier 8 of our finest members will represent us at the Robinson Cup hosted by Mt Morgan this weekend. Look at these names: Appleton, Eversham T, Gray, Green, Muldrew, Pusey, Ronnfeldt and Terrey. All capable of playing Ryder Cup against the Americans. The PR desk had exclusive access to their preparation which included a practice session at the 19th. Doug Gray has been practising with a blindfold so he can feel the sweetspot on his clubs, Joel Green went to confession, Mark Muldrew has been drinking water to purify himself, John Pusey has been jogging to work, Dave Terrey washed his golf cart. The boys are ready...good luck from all members. Cheers Pete from PR

22.01.2022 This afternoon a good field teed off in the Wednesday club. The winner on 27 stableford points was Kent Neasey. Another par round of 35. The runners up was terrific Tony Ronnfeldt on 26 points. Pinshots won on 10 by Tony Caffrey, 12 by Beau Barraclough, 15 by the birthday boy Pete Bailey and 17 by Mick Stanton. A great shot and he made the putt for a birdie. Don't forget the break up party on 5 December for Wednesday club members and partners. Its free to attend in recognition of your support to the club over the past 12 months. In addition the funeral for Mrs Gail Harmer the much loved wife of our Reg is on at 10am at the Emerald Uniting Church. The wake is at the club. It would be a lovely gesture if Wednesday club members could wear their club shirts as a mark of respect. Cheers Pete from PR

21.01.2022 Good luck to all juniors playing in the Central Highlands Emerald Junior open tomorrow and to the 8 members representing our great club in the Robinson Cup hosted by Mt Morgan. Tomorrow afternoon is a single stableford and Sunday the monthly medal proudly sponsored by Cardav Constructions. Last night we dined at the club and then played trivial pursuit. Great night put on by Club Manager Sue although I realise how much trivia I dont know. I have attached my report from todays Highland Leader who I thank for wanting to publish our news. Enjoy the weekend and play well. If you can come down in the morning and watch our future champions. Cheers Pete from PR

21.01.2022 This morning saw 57 junior golfers tee off in the Central Highlands Emerald junior open. They travelled from Mackay, Moranbah, Springsure, Blackwater, Yeppoon, Gladstone and Rockhampton. Thanks to mums, dads, grandparents and other family members for bringing your junior/s to play and for supporting them on the course. To those juniors who won a prize I say congratulations. To all the other juniors I also say congratulations for trying your very best on a course you may not have played before. I am proud of you, your families are proud of you and you should be proud of yourself. Golf is a difficult game to play but also very rewarding. So keep practising and competing. Here are some photos I took with permission today. Cheers Pete from PR

20.01.2022 Theres still time to reserve you table and spoil Dad this Fathers Day at our Buffet Lunch. For bookings phone 4982 1274

20.01.2022 Fourty dedicated members teed off today in a single stableford. Thanks to all fathers who played and families who shared them with us. Results are below. Congratulations to great supporter Jordan Price todays winner on a countback from Cec Ivers and Dave Terrey. I sold Jordan a shirt in the pro shop this morning and that may have given him a competitive edge. Special mention of Dave who started mowing the greens at 5.30am. See photo. Have a great week and to all our fathers I hope it was a day to remember. Cheers Pete from PR

20.01.2022 Members there is great coverage of the pro am in todays Highlands Leader so please get your copy from a newsagent. I always find no 18 green difficult to read. Made it harder today with our local wildlife enjoying the freshly mowed green courtesy of Jared and Dave. Cheers Pete from PR

19.01.2022 Lunch is served. You cant beat the $15 lunch specials at the Emerald Golf Club.

19.01.2022 The first day of the pro am was played today in very windy and dusty conditions particularly for players this afternoon. 97 players including welcomed visitors from other clubs teed off and got to see how a professional golfer plays. But today was the Mark Muldrew show. He had a hole in one on the 5th hole. Its his third on our course and his lovely mum Athene had a hole in one on hole 17 earlier this year. Mark also won the 18 hole nett. Tonight was a shoot out for the professionals from the top of hole 13 to hole 9. It was under lights and attracted many spectators. The nearest to the pin won $500 proudly sponsored by Le Porte Rosse. Cheers Pete from PR

19.01.2022 After another 24 mls of rain since this morning the Emerald golf course will remain closed tomorrow. We will review late tomorrow afternoon. So sleep in tomorrow and catch up on house chores. The bar will still be open from 11am. Cheers Pete from a wet PR

19.01.2022 This morning 23 wonderful juniors accompanied by mums, dads, grandparents, friends and members teed off to sharpen their skills for the Central Highlands Emerald Junior open next Saturday. I witnessed some great ball striking, excellent chipping and amazing putting. Took these photos this morning. Apologies if there is a wrong name. Cheers Pete from PR

18.01.2022 In breaking news the PR desk will be idle for a while. I decided to support our August monthly medal sponsor Priority Health and have a toe nail removed. No, it was not for fun. Was I brave? - no. Did it hurt? - not as much as the 4 triple bogies I had on the weekend. Special thanks to the wonderful Dr Varsani and nurse Connie for looking after me. I thought he said I was now exempt from housework for a month but my Robyn said it was the anaesthetic talking. Cheers Pete from PR

18.01.2022 Day 2 of the annual spring renovations involved an application of sand and smoothing it out. Thanks to staff Jared and Dave, members Grant Armour, Noel Rogers, Dave Morgan and myself. Special thanks to Neville and John who are doing work with the club and Jenny Schulz for the lovely sandwiches. The greens will be a bit sandy and slower but in a few weeks they will be great again. Cheers Pete from PR

18.01.2022 What golf is on this week I hear you ask? In addition to the pro shop challenge this afternoon is the Wednesday club, Saturday morning is the Central Highlands Emerald Junior open, Saturday afternoon is a single stableford and Sunday is the monthly medal proudly sponsored by Cardav Constructions. We also have 8 members travelling to Mt Morgan to represent our club for the highly coveted Robinson cup. Cheers Pete from PR

18.01.2022 Members will recall that in March 2019 our great friend and member Darren 'Dazza' McMicking was tragically taken from his family, friends and our club. At the request of his wife Michelle a bench seat was donated along with a plaque. We thank Jared and Dave for assembling the seat and placing it on the 15th tee today. Dazza won many pinshots on this hole. So please sit on the seat and reflect on a life cut short. The supplied photo of Dazza was taken about 4 years ago on the course. RIP Dazza. Cheers Pete from PR

16.01.2022 Today was the annual spring renovations on our greens. It started with coring, then application of gypsum and fertiliser. Tomorrow sand will be applied. Thanks to staff Jared and Dave, members George Hatchett, Kent Neasey, Grant Armour, Noel Rogers and myself. Special thanks to Neville and John who are doing work with the club and Jenny Schulz for the lovely sandwiches. No photos of George and I taken as we were too busy. So lets pray for rain after tomorrow to give the greens a real boost. Cheers Pete from PR

16.01.2022 Special mention of the Wills family today. It was Barry's birthday and he won the pro pin on 15. His lovely wife Daria won the women's foursomes championships and the club pin on 17. Happy birthday Barry from all members and congratulations to their wonderful daughter for graduating from year 12. Cheers Pete from PR

16.01.2022 Today was round 8 of the Ryco 24/7 series proudly sponsored by our good friend Tim Lesnick. Winners are below. Congratulations to Grant Armour. Special mention of Darcy Hagan who had an eagle on 6. Two iron then four iron to 25 feet and holded the putt! After the round four of our lowest handicappers helped joint course director Kyle choose pins placements for tomorrow. They found it difficult to find holes in fair positions as well as taking in consideration of greens preservation. Well done Jacob Gibbs, Ryan Aspinall, Darcy Hagan and Jordan Price. Happy fathers day to all dads, step dads and grandads for tomorrow. I hope you get to spend time with your loved ones. Cheers Pete from PR

16.01.2022 This afternoon 24 players teed off in the coveted monthly medal proudly sponsored by Matt and Lauren in the pro shop. The winner on 28 stableford points was Reg Harmer on a countback from Kerry McAtee. Pete Bailey on 26 points was third on a countback from Selwyn Nutley. Pin shots on 10 and 17 won by Mark Carter, Mick Stanton on 15 and Kyle Connors on 12. I played with Reg and he had three shots on 18. He had an easy par for 4 a 5!Cheers Pete from PR

15.01.2022 How good was the new halfway house on the weekend. Special thanks to Kyle Connors, joint course director and his lovely lady Victoria, George Hatchett house director and Mike Serotzki ale taster and swing coach who were there both days to keep us fed and hydrated in dusty and windy conditions. But they did witness a hole in one, learnt new swear words and watch grown men cry over poor chips and putts. Yes and it was all volunteer work. Again the club and all visitors and touring professionals thank you. Cheers from PR

15.01.2022 Well folks still light rain falling at the club. Beautiful to watch the water flowing on the course. As the course is closed I have also closed the pro shop and going home. More updates this afternoon. Cheers Pete from PR

14.01.2022 Scroll down to see the Chefs weekly specials, available for dine in only. For bookings phone 4982 1274

14.01.2022 After the euphoria of Mark Muldrews hole in one on #5 on Saturday the PR desk managed to get an exclusive interview with him and his lovely mum Athene yesterday. As reported earlier this was Marks third hole in one on our course. The others being on 12 and 9. Athene had a hole in one on 17 in May this year. But the fascinating story was the late great Winston Muldrew (husband and father) also got a hole in one on 17 during the pro am some years ago!! So in the belief that this family may bring me good luck I bumped elbows with them both and teed off. Nah did not help. I was so far from the green on most par 3s I think even our local on course professional will need a sick day after my lesson. Cheers from PR

07.01.2022 Today 102 members and visitors teed off for the second round of the Lunar Mining pro am. It was very windy and dusty conditions again today. Some stating worse than yesterday. The winner of the pro am with rounds of 61 and 69 was Kade McBride. His first win as a professional. Absolutely gentleman. Second was Tim Hart two shots behind. Tim was the winner last year and a joy to watch. All results for members are on one golf. I will publish the professional scores tomorrow. Thanks to all sponsors, our grounds staff, bar staff and restaurant staff. And to Matt and Lauren in the pro shop who worked long hours on both days to make the event possible. Cheers Pete from PR

02.01.2022 As previously advised 8 of our finest members represented us in Mt Morgan on the weekend in the Robinson Cup. It was won by Yeppoon. Reports from our members have mainly been around the social aspect and a few mishaps. But this photo came my way. Its one of our members who will be identified as D. Note 2 things. How did D get behind the ladies tee on this hole and are the two guys on the other fairway watching on practicing social distancing or their safety? Cheers Pete from PR

02.01.2022 Lunar Mining Emerald Pro Am ~ Day 1 Please arrive at least 30mins prior to tee off - shotgun starts are 7am & 12.15pm sharp

01.01.2022 This afternoon 19 players teed off in the Wednesday club. The winner on 26 stableford points was Ashley Bunker Lawson on a countback from Kerry McAtee. Pin shot on 12 won by Gary Deacon, Jim Walby on 15 and Darren Rolfe on 17. Ashleys handicap dropped 14 shots. Next week is the monthly medal proudly sponsored by Matt and Lauren in the pro shop. Now if your wondering why Ashleys new nickname is Bunker. Apparently last week his bunker shot on 17 finished on the roof of the units behind the green. Yes his partners laughed too. Cheers Pete from PR
