Smoke and flames will be visible to motorists on the Bruce Highway and surrounding areas. Residents should close windows and doors and keep medications close by if they suffer from a respiratory condition. Smoke can decrease visibility, so motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. If residents are concerned their property is under threat they should call Triple Zero (000) immediately.

22.01.2022 STOLEN | Police are appealing for anyone with a keen eye to be on the look out for a large, red prime mover, reportedly stolen between July 4 and July 6 from Ma...gnesium Drive, Crestmead. The vehicle is a 2006 Red Volvo FM Prime Mover bearing Queensland registration plates XQ16HW and is described as having red and white panels with no special signage or markings.



22.01.2022 Rothwell | Queensland Police are investigating reports of a vehicle travelling down Anzac Avenue in Rothwell today, with a rear passenger pointing what appears ...to be a firearm at another vehicle while hanging outside of the open window. It is not known what lead up to the exchange or if the firearm was real or a replica, this incident happened just after 2pm today.

17.01.2022 Mount Mee | Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) crews are on scene at a bushfire burning in the DAguilar National Park between Mount Mee and Somerset ...Dam, near Sellin Road and Lovedays Road. This bushfire is currently posing no threat to property. Crews are working to contain the fire. Residents may be affected by significant smoke haze in the area. They are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. 15.01.2022 Tewantin | Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) advises there is a bushfire in Tewantin National Park near Tewantin. You need to keep up to date and de...cide what actions you will take if the situation changes. Currently a large bushfire burning between Eumundi Noosa Road and Lake Entrance Boulevard has crossed Eumundi Noosa Road and is burning west into the National Park in Tewantin. People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality. Eumundi Noosa Road is still open to traffic with traffic controls in place. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. Multiple QFES crews along with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) are on scene working to contain the blaze. This includes aerial support performing water bombing operations. Properties are not under direct threat at this time. 14.01.2022 Dakabin | Investigations continue after a man was fatally shot by police at Surround Street at Dakabin overnight. Preliminary information indicates around midni...ght police were called to an incident involving a disturbance between a man and a woman at a Surround Street residence. Upon arrival police were confronted by the man who was allegedly armed with knives. One officer deployed their taser but it was ineffective, as a result a number of shots were fired, striking the man. Despite first aid being administered, the 27-year-old man died at the scene. No one else was injured as a result. Ethical Standards Command is over-viewing the incident and investigations are continuing. Anyone with dashcam vision or further information is urged to contact police. ~ Our thoughts are with the officers involved, thank you for protecting and serving the community. ~

06.01.2022 Greater Brisbane now in lockdown for three days, while contact tracers work to ensure the UK variant of COVID-19 is not circulating in the community. From now (6pm Friday 8 January), until 6pm Monday 11 January people in the local government areas of Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Redlands and Logan will be required to stay at home except for the following reasons: * Shopping for essentials, food and necessary supplies * Medical or healthcare needs, including compassionate r...equirements * Exercise with no more than one other person, unless all from the same household * Providing care or assistance to an immediate family member * Work, or volunteering, or study if it is not reasonably practicable to work or learn remotely * Child custody arrangements * Legal obligations * Visit for end of life * Attend funeral or wedding in line with restrictions Masks will also need to be worn everywhere in those local government areas except if people are at home. Cafes, pubs and restaurants will be open only for takeaway and delivery services. Funerals will be restricted to 20 people and weddings to 10, including the celebrant and two witnesses. All essential businesses remain open. If you need to leave Greater Brisbane for an essential purpose, such as to work, to return home or to access healthcare, you should limit your movements for those three days wherever you go. We're also asking anyone who was in Greater Brisbane on or since 2 January, to follow the same lockdown rules where they are now. Only leave your home for the essential reasons and wear a mask. 01.01.2022 COVID lockdown update.

01.01.2022 Wacol | Emergency services are responding to reports of multiple fires that have been started within a building of the Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre by inma...tes. The situation is still unfolding, we are unsure of the extent of the fires or incident at this stage. Eleven fire crews have been sent to the scene with QAS and QPS assistances. Update: A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesman said crews were called to an indoor fire and an outdoor fire at the prison just before 10pm. Crews remained on scene well into the night, with prison personnel assigned to assist crews tackling the indoor blaze. He said prisoners had been taken out of their cells in the affected areas and were secured elsewhere. Paramedics also attended and treated several patients for smoke inhalation. It is unknown how the fires started, but initial reports indicate a rubbish fire began the outdoor blaze.

The operation is in relation t...o a Murder investigation of Gregory James Thurlow dating back to 1996. Greg was 27 when he disappeared in early October 1996. He left his mothers Manly West home on October 1 and told family he was travelling to the Redcliffe area. During that evening, he went to a house on Longland Street, Scarborough, before travelling to a friends house at Mitze Street, Bray Park. He was last seen alive somewhere between the night of October 1 and the early hours of October 2, leaving the Bray Park house with a male associate. Detectives are offering a $500,000 reward and indemnity for information that leads to justice.
