15.01.2022 Emission Assessments were recently involved in the Waste and Recycle Conference 2015 held on Friday 11th September. Our Scientific Services Manager, Christine West, presented her insights into field odour surveys, particularly explaining the differing methodologies and data obtained by Plume Measurement and Grid Measurement Surveys.

13.01.2022 Citizen scientists: Teaching kids about air quality! The Urban Citizen Science Programme (UCS) was designed and deployed by Loop Labs Ltd in partnership with Lambeth Council. Currently designed as a prototype with an intention to refine, develop and scale across London and other urban cities the programme objective is to catalyse conversations within the community about air quality that will lead to long term and durable behaviour change such as an increase in walking and reduced car use for short journeys. https://vimeo.com/125226220

03.01.2022 Santa invited us to do some Environmental Assessments in the North Pole!

03.01.2022 The EAPL Odour Panel were out and about last week. Staff were being shown how to set up and use the new mobile weather monitoring station. It turned out to be easy to use and a great asset for the team.

03.01.2022 EAPL Case Study: GatewayWA In 2014 Gateway WA commissioned EAPL to assist with a land remediation project within the Perth Airport and Freight Access Project, following the discovery of large quantities of historic asbestos insulation debris buried within an area of land earmarked for redevelopment. The Gateway Project is a $1 billion project - WAs largest ever road project- designed to improve the safety and efficiency of one of the states most important transport hubs. E...APL was called in to manage the remediation of the impacted soil and sent an experienced asbestos project management team, which had the experience and technical knowledge to ensure that complex asbestos management and remediation of the area was handled expertly within the commercial and operational requirements of the project. The site was within Perth International Airport boundaries and immediately adjacent the main runway and subject to aviation height restriction and other constraints. To facilitate future construction works remediation involved excavating, remediating (screening & treating), validating, re-using and/or Dig and Dump of materials. EAPL assisted Gateway WAs contaminated land consultants with the formulation of a remediation strategy and further provided on-site personnel to project manage the removal of the asbestos from the affected area. Remedition lasted 6 months in which EAPLs Class A Asbestos Assessors were in constant attendance throughout active handling operations and supervised remediation/groundwork contractors working on the site. Moreover, to ensure contamination was contained within delineated zones and that risks of exposure to asbestos fibres were reduced as far as reasonably practicable. See more
