24.01.2022 Parenting has been tough this week. It’s obviously distressing seeing her unwell again & she’s so snuggly, which is cute, but I can’t get things done at the speed I like & I’m behind in everything. I haven’t made it to the supermarket all week so I’m glad I froze this vegetable, lentil & barley soup a while back. Soup freezes really well & it tastes as good, if not better, than when I made it

22.01.2022 My current subject at Uni is Human Nutrition. To be honest, I hate the reminder that since having Frankie, my diet really has gone downhill.... It was so important to me to nourish my body so, so, well when I was carrying her... & now I can’t understand why, when I’m just nourishing myself, it doesn’t have the same level of importance I still have to function properly & every little cell deserves the same support I’d give anyone else... ... So I’m grateful for this subject for highlighting that & so I made a meal Tylah & I used to have a lot, when it was just us. Ben hates salmon so I don’t eat it often. Frankie ate 3/4’s of mine so I guess we’re having it more now... So.. I’m super happy she’s getting all the B Vitamins, Omega 3 & Protein to support all that growth & development she needs. Salmon is such a nutritious, well balanced choice when you are after a quick, easy meal - I loveeee it

07.01.2022 Today an outfit I specifically remember wearing a few days after I met Ben (to try & impress him TBH ) fell out the wardrobe... (Ok. I might have angrily pulled the entire pile out because it’s such a mess in there ) so I thought I’d wear it today & try take a similar photo to the one I took on that day..... I LOLLLL. That photo back in 2017- I have NO idea how I got that filter how are my eyes that blueish colour when in real life they are green?? I’d also just left the... hairdresser & had my beautiful lashes on. That was who I was back then. 05.01.2022 August has been a tough one for me. I don’t know if we’ve had full moons or what but it’s been big. I’ve felt overwhelmed, I’ve lacked some serious sleep, I’ve done absolutely no exercise whatsoever because, hey, who has time for that? There has been some super great stuff in August that I’m proud of - I finished my first Uni subject, (which was an intensive), we’ve had birthdays that were so much fun, (we all know how much planning goes into those) but I’ve felt a bit con...sumed by housework & keeping the washing pile under control... & don’t even look at my garden..... all the while trying to work a full time job over 4 days Anyhoo... the point of this post is two things - 1- it’s pretty cathartic for me - I get to blurt my feelings out which is important to be able to start feeling better 2- I get to remind you that you don’t have to do it all, it’s ok to ask for help, it’s ok to take some ‘guilt free’ time out for yourself & it’s ok to acknowledge when it’s all really quite draining... What is most important is how we get up & make some changes so we can keep being our brilliant selves without the enormous mental load we carry every day, consume us. Make time for yourself. Walk in the sunshine, (even for 10 minutes), order your groceries online so you can just pick them up, have a bath, call a friend, take your supplements if you know you’re not getting enough of them from the foods you’re eating (not going to lie, I don’t take these supplements every day because I actually forget....), read a chapter from a book, watch an inspiring YouTube video - just something that switches you off from the everyday things. I hope this has helped in someway - I’m off now to get ready to go buy some pyjamas that I’ve been putting off for months because I don’t have time! . I’m pretty sure my husband has had enough of listening to me complain about having none so we’re rolling into September with one less thing to whinge about
