23.01.2022 How do you have your spuds? I like mine hasselbacked with crushed garlic, rosemary and lots of olive oil! Yumbo! I bought these beautiful #kestrel potatoes from @wildthingsfood yesterday and roasted them up last night! Kestrel potatoes are great all rounders and are particularly identifiable by their purple blush around their eyes! Leave the skin on cause its super delicious!! #organic #potato #roasted #shoplocal

23.01.2022 Chillies!!! Am in to my Third season with @angelicaorganicfarm CSA box and loving my fortnightly surprise! Have a backlog of chillies from last week so today I got my ferment on with @thefermentary to make some fermented hot chilli sauce! And because I am a little impatient, also made some ridiculously good (and hot) chilli jam (last pic is the start of the process). Those little habeneros sure pack a punch . 21.01.2022 Art is not what you see, but how it makes you feel. I cant remember who said that, but it has stuck with me (ha ha I might google later). The first pic particularly resonates with the above. What can you see? They are rubbings of old ironing board frames from women who ironed for a living. I could feel the history, the hope, the hard work seeping out of this piece! One aspect of travelling solo is that I can spend as much time as I care for in museums and art galleries. My recent travel to San Fran allowed me a leisurely ponder through the De Jong Museum. For those lucky enough to be able to work from home and still get paid, now is our time to, more than ever, support local. Tonight I am eating Beef Bourguignon from Estelle in High Street Northcote (for pick up). $40 for a meal that serves 2. Exceptional value for now, and even more exceptional value for later when I dine there, in real life, the restaurant is still there, once this pandemic is under control. Be nice to each other. 19.01.2022 So in this iso business, Pete and I decided to move into his place to ride the iso wave. I love him, but his priority on kitchen stuff really isnt high! Today I decided to make him a birthday burnt basque cheesecake, and only after mixing it all up did I realise that he doesnt have a cake tin to his name! So I improvised and used a saucepan! Worked a treat when lined with baking paper! I am actually enjoying the challenge of making do. You really can manage with only a few ...things. And when you are making something as simple as a basque cheesecake (500g cream cheese, 4 eggs, 275g sugar, 300ml tub double thick cream, 1tbs flour - mix well in that order, each ingredient mixed until smooth, until you add the next ingredient - baked in 200c ice for about an hour) then life in iso is ok for today! #basquecheesecake #baking #isobaking #yum #love #birthday See more

16.01.2022 I am still relaxed from my stay at the Lake House Daylesford in their Waterfront Pool Studio! Like seriously - I did not get out; well I did, but only to sip wine from their expertly cellared and very exceptional wine! I was learnt a whole heap of new plants, but was was surprised to learn that there are many plants similar or the same in Australia. 09.01.2022 Sometimes when life gets pretty full, the simple things remind you that they are the best. I have neglected my garden over the last 6 months, throwing in some greens a month or so ago and hoping for the best. I made this delicious frittata with home grown eggs, a few mushies, bits of spinach, chilli flakes, toms, and cheese. A knob of butter in my gorgeous #realsteel pan (who needs non-stick when you have real food) on a low heat for 5 mins and then finished in the oven. With a simple salad of greens and herbs from the garden and a cup of tea. Life is good. Hope you are all going ok out there. Much love to you xx

07.01.2022 Love my fortnightly Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) box from @angelicaorganicfarm ! This is veg at its best - squeaky, crisp and crunchy! Truly seasonal and picked just the day before these veggies are bouyant and some still covered with soil! I love knowing where my food comes from and to be truly transparent, CSA is the way to go! What is CSA? In a nut shell, the consumer pays the farmer an upfront subscription for produce. This allows the farmer then to have a planned income stream regardless of the weather. We the consumer gets the bounty of the seasons and the benefit of eating seasonal. Its really awesome and I encourage you to check it out! There are quite a few CSA farms around and the farmers especially need our help during this particularly dry spell! #seasonal #csa #realfood #lotsaleeksrightnow #fresh #local #love

05.01.2022 Chez Panisse. The End. No but seriously, after reading @alicelouisewaters #comingtomysenses I knew I had to visit whilst in San Fran, that and falling in love with @ciaosamin . What a place, its a restaurant that embodies everything that I would like to think that I would do if I were to ever open a place. Seasonal produce, treated extraordinarily well. I loved reading Alices book and the making of a counterculture cook. Such an intense part of history, Chez Panisse was no mistake, after years of planning, to provide a place for people to eat dinner and to also foster ideas. 02.01.2022 Plum, Chocolate, hazlenut cake, new records, job done. Thanks Wednesday you were grand. Plum cake was made using green banana flour, a great gluten free alternative to wheat flour and tastes great and is incredibly moist. Records were purchased on a whim riding my bike home. I popped into #plugseven and met @jazzycatlady who gave me some very excellent suggestions. Have a great evening lovers xo
