24.01.2022 A conversation with Annemarie... What would you say to someone that says "I'm not a Christian but I know you are, what do you love about being a Christian? "Being a Christian gives me strength and hope. It provides me with purpose and encouragement - for Him, I want to be better and do better whilst having the comfort of knowing that I am accepted as I am - flawed and broken. It is such a relief to know that there is an all-powerful, all-knowing God who loves me and my family."

21.01.2022 So excited for Welcome back Sunday tomorrow. Due to the weather, Kids and Youth check in will once again be in the Living Room. Plenty of room for all. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

21.01.2022 Celebrate hope at Emmanuel Anglican Church. Come and join us at our Easter Day services today at 8.30am, 10.30am (with children's activities) and 6pm with dinner (by donation).

20.01.2022 A conversation with Colin... What is one word you'd use to describe Jesus? I can think of many words to describe Jesus - the Bible is full of them, but today I will choose the "ultimate", a word we often use to describe the "best". Jesus is the best, ultimate and only way of knowing God and being right with Him. He supremely reveals God to us, pays the penalty for our sins and gives us the ultimate gift of eternal life.

15.01.2022 Gecko Kids' Club is back this Friday! Invite your friends! Haven't been to Gecko before? No problem, just come!

14.01.2022 Don't forget that tomorrow is "Welcome Back" Sunday. We've been able to meet face to face for several weeks now, ,and we want to give thanks to God for his goodness to us. We're marking the occasion by asking you to bring back to church your succulent plant (or a cleverly disguised stunt double, if yours didn't make it!) so we can plant them together.

14.01.2022 Remember to pre-register for 10:30am Church! COVID capacity limits mean that space is a bit tight. But we still want you to come to church! So click the link in the comments below, and make sure there's a spot set aside for you.

14.01.2022 6pm Church is on! Great to see a bunch of people gather (outside, so we can sing!) for church tonight!

10.01.2022 So good be back up and running at GECKO Kids’ Club! The kids enjoyed games and singing and learning about fruit of the spirit from the Bible. Well done to Suzanne and her team of younger (and older) leaders and helpers! Plus, great to see some pre-school kids and parents at GECKO-minis. And an epic night at Junior High where Our Junior High leaders explained that the world has been ruined by sin in the same way a delicious chocolate milkshake is ruined by the addition of blended smoked kippers! Bottoms up Isaac! And don’t worry, we also found out that Jesus fixes sin and Buscopan fixes Isaac.

10.01.2022 It was so good! Can’t wait to do it again!!

10.01.2022 A conversation with Emma! What's a christian song that you find encouraging? Yet Not I but Through Christ in Me - City Alight.... What gospel truth does it remind you of? This song reminds me of all that is mine because of what Christ has done. Because of Jesus, I have: Deep and Boundless Peace. Freedom. Grace. Hope. Victory. Forgiveness. Assurance. Joy. One of my favourite lines of the song is: "To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus". It is a constant temptation to put my hope in places other than Jesus - in relationships, physical possessions, education, children. In this current season, my hope is often for stability, connectedness, patience and endurance. But this song continues to remind me that there is only one place to put my hope. A hope that is secure and eternal. As John Piper says, "Hope has a name. The better and the eternal has a name. His name is Jesus. We hope in him. We hope for him." What a helpful reminder it has been to keep my eyes on the one and true hope, Jesus himself! Who is someone that has encouraged you as a Christian and a friend. There have been many people who have left a real mark on my life as a Christian, from my Grandma, my parents, my youth minister growing up, to Bible Study leaders. However, in the past 5 years I have had a couple of older women who have really invested in me and been of real encouragement. They have become unofficial "mentors" and have just allowed me to walk through life with them (even in the real mess). They are wives, mothers, daughters, friends. We have spent much time reading the Bible together, praying and chatting about all of life. I am drawn to their humility, their deep thirst for the Word of God, their assurance of who they are in Christ, their genuine love to see those around them saved, their constant wanting to flee from sin and pursue God. They are not afraid to ask the hard questions. I am thankful they care for the long-term good of my soul and eagerly desire godliness rather than comfort. They are women who exude deep love for Jesus and I am so thankful to God for them!

10.01.2022 Our Easter weekend kicked off this evening with a great service learning from Matthew’s Gospel about three cups of wine (sorry, it’s juice!) that speak of the gospel. Why not join us for our Good Friday services tomorrow? Everyone is welcome at our 8.30am and 10.30am services. Both services include the Lord’s Supper and our 10.30am service includes elements for kids as well!

06.01.2022 All things have been created by Jesus and for Jesus

06.01.2022 A conversation with Hans... What would you say to someone who says "I'm not a Christian but I know you are, what do you love about being a Christian?" I love the hope and joy it gives me. As I reflect on God and what he’s done, it helps me make sense of the world around me. It gives me purpose and direction. I find hope in the knowledge that, even though it doesn’t look like it right now, God is in control. His justice will prevail. It gives me joy in seeing beauty in creatio...n, in music, in people. Being a Christian helps me make sense of my life. Show us one of your family photos. Why is this particular photo important to you? Marriage reflects hope and joy. Ashleigh and Danny’s wedding was such a joyous occasion, shared with those I love. And we have another one coming up soon, as Mitchell gets married in November. How has Ezekiel challenged you? Ezekiel challenged God’s people. As one of God’s people, I come under the same scrutiny. What are the idols hidden in my heart? I live and work in a world where money and wealth are the primary focus. How do I live in such a world? Where is my treasure? Is there room in my life for mercy, kindness, gentleness and for Jesus? How do I love my neighbour? Am I ‘salt’ in my world? Ezekiel’s challenge is my daily challenge. Am I walking with God today? If not, then I need to get back on track.

03.01.2022 How great to be singing without masks again, and just before Easter too! Praise the Lord! Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. Psalm 98:1

03.01.2022 Set aside Sunday 1st November for our special "Welcome Back" Sunday, as we give thanks to God for his goodness to us. We've been able to meet face to face for several weeks now. We're marking the occasion by asking you to bring back to church your succulent plant (or a cleverly disguised body double, if yours didn't make it!) so we can plant them together.

02.01.2022 It’s not too late to join us for 6pm Church tonight! See you soon!

02.01.2022 If you want the rainbow you gotta put up with the rain! Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow for our kids & youth programs. Due to the weather our JAM kids & leaders will go straight to the Living Room for check-in. KidsZone & Youth check-in at the Hub! See you there!

01.01.2022 The human authors’ personalities are like musical instruments. If I play Amazing Grace on a tuba, trombone, French horn, trumpet, clarinet, or flute, each will sound different even though if I play the exact same melody in the same key and with breath from the same musician. Andy Naselli. Each book of the Bible is the word and breath of God, carrying the same gospel tune, but it comes through the unique personality of each biblical author. Each is different, but we hear ...the same God speaking the same gospel in every page of scripture. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from Goda as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:20-21

01.01.2022 With a jumping castle, friends, our church grandparents serving afternoon tea, games, a story about Jesus in our indoor garden, and great leaders to care for the kids, we had a great Friday celebrating Easter at GECKO Friday Afternoon Kids’ Club! And if you missed out, the jumping castle is back this Friday with all the things you love about GECKO plus an Easter Egg hunt! Kids in K-5, bring your friends and we’ll see you this Friday at GECKO!
