21.01.2022 FOOD and DRINKS are a big part of our lives. They are also a big part of any event and funnily enough, the part that gets the most comments. When you ask someone about an event, how often do you hear The food was amazing! Or The food was $&*% Feel free to fill in the blanks My job as an event planner is to make sure the food is amazing! And there’s enough to serve your guests. I make sure you don’t run out of wine or ice and have to look for supplies at 10pm.... Who is the best caterer for your event? How many staff do you need? And when? Will it be cocktail style or a sit down event? I have worked on events where we start with a blank canvas and everything from the size of the generator to how many bottles of Vodka we need is meticulously calculated. I’ve also worked at venues where they do all the hard work for you. As an Event Planner I will make sure all "parts" are delivered perfectly. Most importantly, your guests/attendees have the experience you desire at your event! And sometimes.... I might just get in there and serve your guests too!

20.01.2022 When Natalie lost her husband suddenly from an aortic aneurysm, she came to me wanting to raise awareness and funds for the Baird Institute and create a legacy for her two beautiful children to remember their daddy. The James Wadland Night of Hearts was born and that year the event, participating in The City to Surf and a fundraising page, raised close to $50,000. The inaugural James Wadland Night of Hearts was a cocktail style event. The major sponsor had a signature canape ...created with the head chef. There was a speaker from The Baird Institute. The theme was based on a Las Vegas Casino, where funds were raised by playing at the casino, participating in a silent auction or raffle and having some fun in a photobooth. Entertainment included magicians, fire dancers, ballroom dancers and more. It was such a beautiful event to plan and produce, where guests had a wonderful night honouring James by raising a glass of his favourite scotch. These are some photos of the night. Each year The James Wadland Night of Hearts takes place on the 2nd April and each year we remember James and raise money for the Baird Institute.

16.01.2022 The weather As an event planner, I always make sure that every little detail, and every element of an event is thought through and executed to the best of my ability. And when things don’t go as planned, having the ability to be efficient under pressure is paramount. When it comes to the weather... well that’s tackled a little differently. The weather is one thing we can not control. But there are lots of plans that can be put in place to ensure that whatever is ...presented to us by the universe, your event won’t be greatly affected. The most common back up plan is a wet weather plan. But what about the wind? Where is the sun facing at the time of a ceremony, or key speaker at an outdoor event? All this and more plays a part in the success of an event and I will always be there to make sure every possible weather element is considered. These photos are a few of the events where the prediction of rain came into play, the wind and the sun direction was key to where things were positioned and because everything had been planned thoroughly, the event was successfully produced

01.01.2022 Aside for having a passion for planning weddings my other heart work is with Grace’s Place and the HVSG. If you would like to support me when I take part in the city to surf in 14 days I would be forever grateful but more importantly the children who will benefit from this world first centre will get the support they need during a time most of us can’t even begin to understand
