22.01.2022 Dear supporters of Emma Strapps Shiatsu, I know there are many important causes to support out there, however this one has such deeply personal and professional implications for me and the many many people out there who have been touched by shiatsu (acupressure massage) who will lose out if this scheduled action goes ahead on 1 April. We dont have much time. Please sign! X https://www.change.org/p/greg-hunt-mp-support-shiatsu-resto

22.01.2022 Something I I’d like to keep for further reference... and a positive outcome for acupuncture.

22.01.2022 This is welcome news. We will watch this process very carefully. in the meantime continue our work as normal and educate media, public and government on the value of our work in shiatsu.

21.01.2022 While the world lives through a surreal time and we enter into our own corona virus response I would like to share a few important messages: 1. At the new practice we have implemented our COVID-19 risk minimisation protocol. 2. We urge any unwell clients to reschedule their appointments and we ourselves will do the same. 3. We are still open for appointments and work with less than 20 people coming through our doors weekly. 4. Shiatsu is an EXCELLENT way to keep your immune system and respiratory system in balance to function

21.01.2022 A challenge for April...

20.01.2022 Since the early 1900s in Japan, Shiatsu Acupressure Practitioners have developed various styles of the therapy to treat many health conditions. Today Shiatsu Ac...upressure Therapy is well-recognised and practiced globally, offering relief from tension, stress and anxiety. If you suffer from these conditions book in with your local Shiatsu Acupressure Therapist today. See more

18.01.2022 My favorite Saturday in the month. So important to have/find a body practice that works for you.

16.01.2022 If you've thought about coming along, this is a great introduction!

16.01.2022 As the year draws to a close, I reflect on the many wonderful moments I have had in my shiatsu room with such incredible clients - everyone of them an inspiration and I thank all of you! These are challenging times and I feel so privileged to spend my working days supporting others in their health journeys.

15.01.2022 Hope you're staying warm and well as autumn fully descends on us today! A quick update: it is a pleasure to be able to re-open with strict hygiene measures in place including a reduced client load for the time being. Shiatsu is available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays once again. Welcome back!

14.01.2022 Mental health absolute key to general well-being!Thank you for these reminders.

13.01.2022 So pleased to be able to share this grounding experience! Starting tomorrow and running fortnightly tho you can join any session. Emma

12.01.2022 Something we can all do well to remember...

12.01.2022 During this time of collective stress one of the things that can change is our sleep habit. If that’s you then you might find this quick and easy self shiatsu routine useful. I find it highly effective.

11.01.2022 While this paper was published a while ago it’s a good reminder of the growing body of evidence in support of shiatsu and the health benefits it makes possible.

10.01.2022 To anyone out there on FB who has had shiatsu with me, I have come to understand just how much reviews matter in this modern world and would be very appreciative if you felt compelled to share any thoughts you might have in a review on my google page. Hopefully I can return the favor too. Thank you. Emma Strapps

09.01.2022 For a slow and gentle way into your Saturday evening...

09.01.2022 Lovely reminder...

08.01.2022 Slow dance: moving meditation and improvisation practice returns at the end of the month! A beautiful way to integrate breath, body and mind and a great way to end your Saturday!

08.01.2022 Emma Strapps Shiatsu will be pausing practice soon. However I wish to continue to support your health and wellbeing throughout this period. While "distant connection"/staying at home remains the best means of dealing with getting the virus curve under control, I am particularly concerned for our collective mental health with the stress and anxiety caused by the loss of connection this situation inevitably generates. So, please contact me if you are in pain or feeling overwhelmed, anxious, moody or struggling with insomnia at this time and we can work out some options for how shiatsu can support you. I will continue to put out information when and where I can. And at the new clinic we are doing our best to prepare for a grand opening on the other side of this pandemic! Keep an eye out for updates on it! Stay well, Emma

07.01.2022 When the words and ideas that you exactly need to hear pop up on your feed...

06.01.2022 Emma Strapps shiatsu is excited to announce she has moved to the beautiful Cook Shops (very close to Aranda) into a new and expansive holistic health practice. Appointments are available on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. It has been quite an adventure getting the space ready but already it feels like home! 06.01.2022 This Saturday afternoon...

05.01.2022 Skin hunger a term used in this fabulous article to describe touch deprivation. While we’re all adjusting to altered social norms, I feel deeply for those of us out there unable to nourish their skin hunger. Worth a read!

05.01.2022 Very pleased to announce S R S slow dance : moving meditation is returning to illeso studio in Term 2, 2019! Enjoy the Easter break and come join us for delightful colliding beginning 4 May.

04.01.2022 Not that we need science to know the benefits of hugs however the effects of an extended (20 seconds) hug most interesting! A nice experiment?...

03.01.2022 Really looking forward to attending this in a few weeks. Not too late to register.

03.01.2022 Another lovely quote to kick off Spring!

02.01.2022 Always an important reminder- thank you Shiatsu Society (UK). I challenged myself this October to implement more options on this list, particularly mindful moments to check in with my own sense of ‘ground’. I was deeply surprised that I found time stretch - I had more of it to do life with! So, a gentle nudge in this direction can be life changing! P.S. but go with care don’t add more stress in the process. X

01.01.2022 Come and experience a different kind of meditation- one that moves! Facilitators, Emma Strapps and Adam Broinowski bring many years of experience across dance, theatre, performance, butoh and shiatsu. They recognise the healing capacity of subtle movement and have devised this practice to suit many. No experience necessary. See below for more information.
