24.01.2022 We recently had the privilege of a rugby league skills session with some members of the Brisbane Broncos Development Team. Our visitors included none other than Matt Gillette, Jack Reed and Darren Burns! Our Year 3s and 4s loved working with our star coaches who did a wonderful job of motivating and inspiring our students. We extend our genuine appreciation to the Brisbane Broncos and the Greenbank RSL for making this possible. #brisbanebroncos #greenbankrsl

17.01.2022 Congratulations to Year 11 students Amy, Jeremiah and Lochlan who have been successful in securing Assistant in Nursing school based traineeships at Beaudesert and Logan Hospitals. Competition for these traineeships is extremely high with only 15 places available for 100's of applicants. Students had to apply, create a video presentation, then have a panel and group interview. Well done Amy, Jeremiah and Lochlan - you prepared and presented yourselves extremely well!

08.01.2022 Year 6 students have been learning about the physical environment's effect on living things. To consolidate their learning, the students conducted experiments in the science labs. They used sugar and yeast to produce a reaction and observations were made to see which water temperature helped the yeast grow the best and 50 degrees celsius was the winner! Experiments held in the labs also help students prepare for high school.
07.01.2022 The Year 1 students went on an excursion recently to Sea World to explore the depths of our oceans. Firstly, we came face to face with one of the ocean’s top predators, the sharks, that glided past the huge glass viewing windows. Next, the students were lucky enough to visit the ray reef where they got to observe and touch these majestic creatures. The most memorable experience of the day was the dolphin show. The students cheered as the dolphins flipped and jumped metres out of the water causing a splash to cool us down. We learnt how we can make a difference together to actively care for the precious sea life in our oceans. On the way back to the bus, we came across tiny fairy penguins playfully swimming and interacting with each other. What a fantastic day we have shared together.
07.01.2022 Our Year 12 Hospitality class have been providing breakfast for staff and students twice a week this term. The students have been thinking outside the box to offer two main meals and a dessert. Here, we have a sweet waffle with chocolate ganache, mini marshmallows, white choc chips and brownie/oreo crumble and a side of icecream. There was also roasted pumpkin, spinach and feta quiche with a side salad. A savoury breakfast pizza was next with bacon, pork chipolatas and an egg cooked on top. Well done to the Year 12 Hospitality students!

02.01.2022 Our very excited Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students arrived at school today in a multitude of colours to celebrate Under 8's Day. Each class listened to the story "Whoever You Are" by Mem Fox and engaged in discussions about diversity, unity and peace. They created mosaics in foam to make paper people. These people then made the letters for the words : DIVERSITY + UNITY = PEACE on the primary oval. They've had a great day!
01.01.2022 Year 10 Agriculture students ventured to Stanthorpe last week to pick what will be the 10th Emmaus College produced wine. The students hand harvested 450kg of the Granite Belt’s finest shiraz grapes before returning to school to crush their haul of grapes to begin the fermentation process. We thank Peter and Megan O’Reilly for welcoming our students onto their property and introducing them to what viticulture is all about.
