25.01.2022 A special acknowledgement of thanks to Nomads Golf Club Brisbane . Empower Golf Australia are extremely grateful that we are their current charitable fund recipient. Nomads provide an opportunity for persons of all walks of life to meet one another at least once a month, to play golf and make new and cement old friendships. To encourage, promote, foster and support the game of golf. Pictured below is Empower Golf’s Shem Aitken who played out of the Paragolfer in their March monthly social game at Pacific Harbour Bribie Island with Club Captain Kel Hirini and Iain Ross. 19.01.2022 Was nice to have a break from the rain today for our Meadowbrook Come & Try Clinic. In addition to some of our regulars it was good to have Richard an above knee amputee there and Adrian who had his first experience in the Paragolfer. Adrian was recently discharged from the PA Hospital and is currently in the Transitional Rehab Programme (TRP). Special thanks to Dave Mellsop Golf and Meadowbrook Golf Club for hosting us today and thanks to Callaway Golf South Pacific for their continued support.

19.01.2022 What a fun ‘Come & Try’ clinic today at Topgolf Gold Coast (the only Topgolf in Australia) hitting micro-chipped golf balls into giant targets on the outfield. We had Rohan come down from Ipswich, it was his first time in a Paragolfer and Shem who travelled down from Sunshine Coast to have a practice in the Paragolfer before the upcoming Golf Australia Queensland Inclusive Golf Championships at Redcliffe Golf Club Inc. Both Paraplegics. Was also great to see some familiar faces empowering themselves on the mat today. 07.01.2022 Empower Golf would like to say a big Congratulations to one of our regular clinic attendees Ashley. Ashley competed in the Special Olympics State Games last Sunday playing 9 holes of Golf in Division 4. His Adj.H/cap/Rating was 28 and his gross score was 54, and he won a Silver medal in his division. On the last hole his first shot was only inches away from a hole in 1 what an awesome effort Ashley. Special Olympics State Games are held every four years and from these games players are selected to take part in the National Games, also held every four years. From his results, Ashley has a good chance of being selected, although it does depend on results from all other clubs. Tyler had his first try in the ParaGolfer, he was very hesitant to get in it at first but once in and hitting balls he didn’t want to get out. Was fantastic to be a part of some life changing moments yesterday. Thanks to Ian Jones from Grotto Golf for hosting another successful clinic. 02.01.2022 It was John’s first time in the Paragolfer today. John is a paraplegic and also an amputee as a result of a motorbike accident. He played golf prior to his accident and was thrilled to be back hitting balls today. Special thanks to Ocean Shores Country Club for allowing Empower Golf to give this experience to John today.
