07.01.2022 Dear fellow collectors, Firstly, we would like to thank each and every one of you for your valuable support and feedback. We genuinely care about your opinions and have taken them on board. Below are our responses to the most common requests for improvements: 1) Similarity to Poison Ivy: ... During our design phase, we did realise the orange/reddish hair and nature aspect of this statue would be quite relatable to Poison Ivy from DC. However, that was not intended. We chose the hair colour to signify the autumn season by resembling the colour of autumn leaves. To ensure that Gaia is her own unique character, we are now casting the hair in clear resin with orange/red shading thereby adding a more majestic/godlike appearance to her features. 2) Crystal/Bowling Ball: The ball on her left hand is the earth wrapped with her leaves to signify her tenderness and motherly affection, as Gaia is Mother Earth. To add a more realistic appearance to the earth, we are casting this in clear resin. 3) Moss Paint Application: The moss does have a brighter shade of green thereby having similarities with pollution, algae, etc. We will be adding a darker green to ensure that these sections do resemble moss. 4) Harpy Hybrid/ Removal of Claws/ Sil from Species: The right leg and arm have been designed to show the start of Gaia's transformation into a Wood/Forest Dragon. Gaia being the mother of several monsters and humanoid beings (and mother of all life) will have the genetic features of both monsters and humans. Harpy is one of the later offsprings of Gaia, as are other creatures. We chose to represent her as part wood/forest dragon due to dragons being one of the most majestic and well renowned mythological creatures known to mankind. Furthermore, dragons are powerful and independent, which goes hand in hand with our representation of Gaia as an independent and strong woman. We are a ‘start-up’ collectible statue business, based in Melbourne (Australia) and Gaia is our very first statue. We have spent over 2 years designing Gaia and the line of statues, which will be accompanying and complimenting her. This project has been a massive learning curve for us and we will be taking on-board this feedback for our Tartarus (Humanoid Lava Dragon) and Uranus (Humanoid Space Dragon) designs. Statues are more than just collectibles. It’s an expression of passion, story and love of a character. We want to push the boundaries regarding design, materials and story, and to accomplish that we need your continued support. Every sale will provide us the much needed funding to create even more stunning works of art and will enable us to grow and support artists and sculptors in Melbourne. Being a start up business and attempting to create a unique statue has been an incredible journey combined with plenty of learning. ... My team and I have grander designs in store for future Greek Mythos statues which we would like to bring to life. In order to do so, we urge each and every one of you for your support. The pre-order date has been extended to the end of the year (31/12/2019). If the pre-order quota of 100 is not achieved, unfortunately, we will not be able to progress further with production and all existing pre-orders will be refunded.
