While you are at home working or home schooling your children, a fun little project might be to m...ake up some beautiful fragrant flowers and arrange them. They also make a sweet little gift for someone special. Have a wonder around your neighbourhood. Look for textured greenery and flowers on footpaths or hanging over fences. Take some cutters, and gather bits and pieces that inspire your inner florist. Careful not to cut grandma's next door prize rosesthough. She might not be too happy. But I'm sure if you asked - keeping 1.5 mtrs appart - she wouldn't mind . Got everything? Let's get creative! Using an empty sauce jar, such as dolmeo, wash & remove the label. Find some wrapping paper, newspaper or old fabric, I have used Hessian. Cut into a large square and wrap your jar. Use twine to secure, then add a ribbon. Fill with water. Arrange your flowers in your hand. The jar has paper at the back so the arrangement would be forward facing. Arrange your foliage and taller flowers at the back and shorter feature flowers at the front. See how it looks, maybe add some different types of foliage at the sides - fern, gum. It doesn't have to be perfect. Wrap your stems with twine so the arrangement stays in place. Once you like the shape, cut your stems on an angle and place in the jar.
