19.01.2022 MISSION TANZANIA = Successful We are back from our Mission Tanzania Trip. Our recent Tanzania adventures looked like we were on a long holiday, but the reality is different. ... Being in the tourism industry, we realise how bad the Travel and Tourism industry have been impacted due to the Covid19 Pandemic globally. The African continent mostly relies on tourism which is generated by the West. Due to Travel restrictions, Airlines and government rules most visitors are choosing to cancel or postpone their travels which creates a ripple effect in the entire industry. The big operators, hotels, lodges and camps cannot sustain themselves and therefore have to release their staff or pay them half their usual wages. Many of these people rely on monthly wages so they can make their ends meet, savings are nowhere in the picture. We understand this very well. Tanzania opened its borders on the 25th of May which some thought was too early. The President of Tanzania, John Pombe Magufuli refused to lock the country down and the businesses were told to open up as usual. Globally many lives have been lost and families have lost their loved ones due to Covid19 which is really heart-breaking. However, the media always only show the number of positive cases and the number of deaths. Nowhere do you get to hear the success stories which are far higher in numbers than the deaths globally. In the light of this we realised we had to take a risk and travel to Tanzania to have a first-hand experience to show to the world that the country is very safe unlike what you are being told. There is no denial there were quite a number of cases in Tanzania for a couple of months until the country stopped reporting the numbers to WHO. However another reality is also undeniable there are no cases for the last two or three months and we have experienced this ourselves. We travelled for three weeks from the north to the coast and to south as well. We have interviewed many people on and off camera and everyone says the same, they dont know anyone in their family and friends circle who has such a thing. We saw people living a life as it was before covid. What is the secret behind Tanzanias success in combating this horrible illness? Is it that majority of the population have stronger immune system? Is it to do with their healthy diet? Is it to do with the number of tropical diseases they are already exposed to? Watch the space for detailed videos we have documented throughout our trip this August.
