21.01.2022 It's been a challenging year for many, including South Australia's Year 12 students, who've continued slogging away at their studies amidst a climate of upheava...l and uncertainty. This year, with the cancellation of SA's largest Schoolies celebration, the Government of South Australia has partnered with Fresh 92.7 to deliver Home Schoolies, a broadcast event on Saturday 21 November from 12pm to 8pm. Police Commissioner Grant Stevens is encouraging all school leavers to celebrate their achievements at home, in a safe environment. "Plan well ahead with food and snacks. Don't risk driving after the party's started when you do not need to - just look out for each other, and keep everyone safe," says Commissioner Stevens. Chief Public Health Officer, Professor Nicola Spurrier, says Home Schoolies hosts should encourage their guests to be COVID Safe. "A limit of 50 people per household still applies, and it's important you know who has attended a party you host," says Professor Spurrier. Encounter Youth and their Green Team volunteers will also deliver a dispersed Schoolies response to support young people to celebrate safely. Like any other year, Encounter Youth does not encourage school leavers to celebrate. However, if they chose to do so, we will provide support to them.
