23.01.2022 And there is no such thing as too much colour!

23.01.2022 This lovely angel and her friends, would love to invite you over to the new page for the shop! For those of you who haven’t seen the previous updates (because, you know, the algorithm...) Have a great day everyone!

22.01.2022 If you haven’t had a chance to pop in and have a look around both Mes Amours or @peppertreestyle yet- tonight (fri 20/11) the shop will be open a bit later until 8pm. Tinkers Twist Tatura at 148 Hogan St will also be open later than usual (you can check their page for more info ) A great chance to get some xmas shopping done in lovely Tatura. Located at 173 Hogan St and don’t forget, we have Tatura Charcoal Chicken right next door- delicious dinner and pretty things to look at all in the one place

22.01.2022 Colour is my happy place and who needs rules when it comes to decorating your own happy place?! #eclectichome

22.01.2022 Hello! Sooo.....this birdy and I have a big announcement! After a lot of reflection over the last little while (it’s definitely been one of those years, hasn’t it?) I have made the big (and kind of scary, but still exciting) decision to change the shop name! From today I am no longer Pepper Tree Style and have become The Eclectic Canary! I never say it lightly, it is always genuinely meant, so I hope you all know that I am so, so appreciative of all the support and love yo...u have all shown me over this last year and a bit and I would very much love it if you would continue to follow me and my little dream over at my new Facebook and Insta pages Nothing else is changing, I am still trading from within the premises of the lovely Mes Amours Boutique in Tatura but I am looking towards a better and brighter year ahead with a new name that aligns with what is true to my heart. I am going to keep the original social pages up for a little while so that I can get the message out there, but eventually the Pepper Tree pages will be no more and you’ll find this quirky bird over in my new homes at https://www.facebook.com/theeclecticcanary/ and on Instagram @the_eclectic_canary Thank you! 21.01.2022 SPOTLIGHT ON THE ARTISTS Why I what I do & who I get to meet! Molly's Kaleidoshades I fell in love with Molly’s delightful art last year when I came across her on a Facebook group and contacted her to see where I could buy some for myself. It turned out that she didn’t have anyone selling her work in Victoria (she is based in Nambour, QLD) and by pure coincidence (or maybe fate?!) she happened to have family connections in Mooroopna- and Vic and was going to be visiting a...gain soon. So we got chatting and the rest, as they say, is history. I am now very thrilled to be a stockist of her gorgeous work- and- as with all artists/creators in store- my goodness, does she have some talent! Molly has over 25 years’ experience working with glass, copper foil, wire, hand painted fabric and other recycled objects, creating beautiful richly coloured art. She recycles vintage crockery into gorgeous mosaics, makes beautiful bags from recycled materials and upcycles clothing into one of a kind pieces. Molly’s unique designs also come in the forms of glass lampshades, mirrors, personalised figurines, leadlight windows, jewellery, cards and other functional pieces. Molly's latest passion is acrylic painting reverse on glass especially table tops, glass bowls and also creating 2 dimensional pieces. I have watched her paint some pieces like these and it really is amazing to watch the painting come to life- in reverse! Most of Molly's work is done from her studio at home and her art is inspired by the love of re-purposing preloved, no longer deemed important things into fun and quirky wearable pieces, home décor, art and so much more- sometimes practical but always insightful, whimsical and beautiful. Recent works have been acknowledged at art shows with prizes won at Nambour, Kennilworth, Bribie Island and Gold Coast. Molly is currently showing new work at an exhibition at the Bribie Island Art Centre, starting from today and for those of us far away or unable to attend, you can check out a lot of these pieces on her socials. I’m sure another award is not too far away! Best of luck with the exhibition, Molly! See more

11.01.2022 What a glorious (almost Spring!) day! This is the lovely view I get from the window on my side of the shop, there’s lots of Spring colour in here (and as you know, the more colour the better I say) and Maria from Hometown Botanical Gifts has just restocked the . Bring on Spring- only a couple of days to go! It really is the simple things in life that can bring some much needed joy @ Pepper Tree Style

11.01.2022 Spotlight on the artists - Carol L Evans I first met Carol when she approached me to discuss the possibility of stocking some of her work- and I’m so glad that she did. Her gorgeous, often quirky & fun but always beautiful pieces will always make you smile. Based in Mooroopna, Carol is a self taught artist who has only been painting for 5 years- though her talent would have you thinking otherwise. ... Carol had a very difficult childhood (which she has also written a book about) which caused her to lack confidence. Art is not only an outlet for her emotions but has also given her a new outlook on life. Her love of animals is shown in many of her pieces as is her spirit of newly found freedom in being able to express herself. As well as animals, Carol also paints and draws an array of subjects in differing styles. Sweet children’s pieces, pet portraits, beautiful faces, figures, florals & places, the list goes on! Often she incorporates upcycled items into her work that add lovely character & depth & paints on surfaces that you wouldn’t expect; painting is now in her soul , so if it’s a blank surface it may just get a new life! She loves to constantly experiment with new techniques & to above all, have fun. She also teaches art at @MEAC in Mooroopna, volunteers at the hospital which sometimes includes teaching art & takes any opportunity she can to pass on all she has learned. I always love seeing what Carol has next been working on & hope you love her work as much as I do. You can also follow her at Art by Carol Evans See more

05.01.2022 It has been- and continues to be a very tough year for everyone. Today is R U OK Day and World Suicide Prevention day and a good reminder that it is ok to not be ok and it’s ok to reach out for help or to learn how to feel a bit more confident to ask if someone you’re worried about is ok and what you can do- today and every day.
