25.01.2022 Any more takers for tonight's screening of Homeland Story? We would love to have you join us. Bookings close at 6:00pm Book here = https://www.trybooking.com/BJRSD

25.01.2022 We're on track Australia! The elimination of trachoma should see trachoma prevalences less than 5% across our country, and the data is starting to look that way. Well done to all our partners for the contributions you have made towards trachoma elimination. This is a remarkable achievement!

25.01.2022 What fantastic news! Environmental improvement is key to ensuring that infectious diseases like trachoma no longer persist in remote communities. Appropriate housing is essential in this equation.

24.01.2022 Would you believe that over $25,000 has been raised in just 3 years from used stamps!! That is the equivalent of providing 5,000 people with their own towel! A towel is not something that all our Indigenous people are privileged to have. So keep those stamps coming and we will continue to make a difference. See the flyer for Camille Rogers details.

23.01.2022 Am very pleased to announce that we have shown the HOMELAND STORY to what will be 600 people after tomorrow night's 30th screening via Zoom. This is such great news! Thank you to those 600 viewers!!! If you haven't yet seen this amazing film, tomorrow night is the last planned screening for 2020. Come join us. It starts at 7:00pm. 23.01.2022 We had such a great screening of Homeland Story last night with 3 teachers from Yuendumu School - 2 of them being Indigenous - Terrence and Bruno. And top that with special guest appearance by Dr Neville White and Producer Glenda Hambly. The post film conversation was just wonderful as are the emails I have received today. Dr Neville White has very kindly agreed to join us each night for NAIDOC WEEK so book now to watch Homeland Story at 7:00pm ADST. It really is such a great film - I want everyone to see it. Bookings at: https://www.trybooking.com/BMDKH Cost is just $10 with all proceeds going to pay for Joanne to complete her Teacher qualification.

22.01.2022 Final screening of Homeland Story for NAIDOC week is tonight! Don't miss this special opportunity not only to see this wonderful documentary, but to meet with Dr. Neville White for a Q&A session afterwards. Last night we were so thrilled to share our screening with Indigenous teachers and community members from Yuendumu, and to learn so much from ensuing discussions. Thanks to Rex Meredith (Yuendumu teacher) and Tony Maple (President, Rotary Club of Canberra Weston Creek) for making this happen! Get your ticket here: https://www.trybooking.com/BMDKH

21.01.2022 Some essential items for wellbeing are just not accessible to individuals in communities. Items like soap and towels are out of reach to some of our poorest Australians, especially when the prices they pay are some of the highest in Australia. Rotarians can do something now for children in Central Australia. Book in a talk with your district champion today. https://www.theguardian.com//remote-aboriginal-communities

17.01.2022 We are so pleased to be able to support this program as part of project EndTrachoma by 2020. Helping people have the infrastructure to practise good hygiene will ensure that infectious diseases like trachoma don't persist. Well done Environmental Health Trachoma Project #EndingTrachoma

Congratulations Lien and thank you for all you do to further the End Trachoma cause.

05.01.2022 It was our privilege to be part of such a great collaboration with Environmental Health Trachoma Project #EndingTrachoma taking health hardware, community engagement, inspiration and empowerment to remote communities in WA. Thank you to everyone involved - prevention is the cure!

03.01.2022 Fabulous seeing #RotaryInAction and our partners out on the field being great!

03.01.2022 Our portable water trailers in the APY lands were originally designed for remote events such as sorry and business camps. But they are actually finding lots of use within communities in the fight not just against trachoma, but also COVID19 and many other infectious illnesses. A great collaboration with Nganampa Health Council and the local Aboriginal service RASAC. Thank you for making it happen! #ThanksRotary #endtrachoma

02.01.2022 Congratulations to Myanmar on eliminating trachoma as a public health problem!

02.01.2022 One of the schools that will be receiving 200 Toiletry Kits as apart of our '2000 Toiletry Kits for 2000 Children in the NT' is Alekerange. They are being supplied by the Rotary Club of Taree and the local community including Manning Gardens Public School. We have learnt through this connection that the Principal has had to close some of the classrooms as they are regarded as unsafe. Have a read of the following article ''the School Australia forgot" to understand some of th...e challenges that a school in the outback with 159 students faces. In order to fix these classrooms, apparently they will need to remove the office, the art room and the library???? There has to be a better way. I wonder what Rotary can do to assist in this situation? https://aeunt.org.au//alekarenge-the-school-australia-fo/.
