08.01.2022 Ever come across an electrical pit that looked like this? Cracked pits and cracked pit lids aren't just unsightly, they don't comply with the AS/NZS 3000 safety standards. Plus, they can be a safety hazard if they're located anywhere that sees foot traffic. If you see a cracked pit or pit lid, you can report it to Endeavour Energy by calling 133 718

07.01.2022 Since most of us have 289073 different chargers in our homes, here's a new tech tip for you: GaN chargers A lot of you probably haven't heard of it yet, but GaN (aka Gallium Nitride) technology is where charging tech is moving to. Why? GaN is now being used for semiconductors instead of silicone. Utilising GaN technology in terms of chargers means:... Less components are required to build a charger, which makes them physically smaller compared to one of their silicone counterparts They're more energy efficient. GaN has significantly less heat loss compared to silicone, meaning more energy is going to actually charging your devices as opposed to being lost through heat dissipation Handles higher voltages than silicone, meaning GaN chargers can be used for everything from smart watches to laptops One charger for your phone, tablet, camera, watch, laptop, speakers and whatever other small devices you might have... but what about the downsides? Right now GaN chargers are more expensive than typical silicone chargers, but as manufacture expands and demand becomes more widespread, prices are expected to drop. Hopefully one day not too far from now we'll be seeing GaN chargers as the new norm, but if this is something that you think would be useful, we definitely recommend looking into them!

01.01.2022 THIS is why we use trusted brands. This burn occurred in a new build - the apartment is less than 2 years old. While this is something you’d expect an electrician to say, we can’t emphasise enough how important good quality products are for your home’s electrical system. It may be more expensive at the time, but you will save money in the long run by avoiding faults like this, and gain peace of mind knowing your house and family are safe.
