25.01.2022 Some more pics from our 2020 Christmas Party! #merryxmas #chrissyparty

25.01.2022 Today the Preschool children at Kindy Castle received their own Prewriting book set! Children were eager to continue developing their prewriting skills. This fundamental skill needs to be developed before children are able to write. This will contribute to a child’s ability to hold and use a pencil, and the ability to draw, write, copy, and colour. A major component of pre-writing skills is pre-writing shapes as they later support the development of writing letters. ... 23.01.2022 Feeding can be a babys first expression of love and continues to be a social and cultural experience throughout life. At Kindy Castle we promote healthy diets by offering children a variety of food choices and food experiences. Children who learn early in life how to make wise food choices develop good eating habits and healthy attitudes about food. Children participate in cooking and a range of learning experiences to develop their knowledge of what a balanced diet looks like. This week the toddlers were sorting their food into the food groups. #healthylifestyle @ Engadine Kindy Castle

13.01.2022 Today there was so much excitement at Engadine Kindy Castle! They enjoyed touching and riding ponies . For some of our children it was their first pony ride. When children interact with animals they build their sense of connection, empathy and care. They experience a sense of curiosity and learn to develop a relationship with animals.

13.01.2022 Our colour run excursions are one of our favourites!! Our kids at EKC love exploring the different colours and especially love getting covered in it!

11.01.2022 At Engadine Kindy Castle the children have loved observing the Life Cycle of a Butterfly first hand. Children observed caterpillars over time and compared its early development (caterpillar) to its later development (butterfly). This is a great way to develop fundamental observation skills in science.

09.01.2022 Learning outdoors is just as important as learning indoors at Engadine Kindy Castle! Our childrens request to take a number puzzle outside! @ Engadine Kindy Castle

09.01.2022 Today the children were excited to look for their names when transitioning from one activity to another. Childrens names are displayed in the learning environment to help develop their name recognition. After children found their names at the table they completed individualised name tracing worksheets. Name play in preschool has many cognitive benefits which include the ideals that recognising ones name helps children feel important, recognising others names builds community, name recognition builds concepts of print and begins the process of site reading, and knowing your own name supports beginning math concepts.#preschool #earlyyearseducation #transitiontoschool @engadinekindycastle

06.01.2022 This week we had Little Boomers Basketball come to our service! Children learned a wide range of skills with enthusiastic and skilled coaches. This was a great program to develop our children's gross motor skills. Gross motor skills are important to enable children to perform every day functions (e.g. walking and running) and sporting skills (e.g. catching and throwing). Gross motor skills impact a childs endurance to cope with a full day of school (e.g. sitting upright at ...a desk and carrying a heavy school bag). Getting children to be active through sports and outdoor play is important so that children learn to develop healthy lifestyle habits. For more information about our programs feel free to contact us on 02 9548 0388. www.engadinekindycastle.com.au https://littleboomersbasketball.com.au/

06.01.2022 Today EKC had some new grass being placed in the outdoor area! An impressive bunch we have at EKC!

05.01.2022 This week is book week at Engadine Kindy Castle! Children have really enjoyed dressing up in their favourite characters from their books. Promoting a love for books supports children building a positive attitude towards reading. Reading or being read to; - builds relationships, creating deeper bonds between child, parent, and educators; - provides new experiences, awareness building about the world outside ;... - improves communication, building a greater vocabulary, speech patterns and enunciation; - improved concentration (storytime providing an ideal incentive to build concentration); and - a lifetime love of books! #bookweek #engadinekids #loveforbooks See more

05.01.2022 Children are encouraged in our outdoor environment to continue learning their numbers, colours and shapes! One of the ways we do this is through our Learning Parachute! Children enjoy ball games and so on while getting a full fun learning experience! @ Engadine, New South Wales

05.01.2022 At Engadine Kindy Castle today the children enjoyed making fruit smoothies with the educators. We used Greek yoghurt, coconut, mango, milk, raspberries, blueberries, watermelon and strawberries to make a delicious drink. We learned about the benefits of each fruit and how it helps our bodies. This was a great hands on learning and a very tasty experience!

04.01.2022 Today the children had a blast at the park! We had a treasure hunt and lots of running races. Children won medals for their great efforts, well done everyone ! #healthylifestyle #running #engadine #activekids

03.01.2022 In the Bumble Bees Room our favorite activity this week was our ball pit! Playing in a ball pit allows the children to strengthen their muscles. Throwing and rolling the balls supports their fine motor development. As the infants move through the balls, it provides them with an experience that feels calming. The ball pit also offers the toddlers and babies opportunities for social interaction. Ball pit play promotes their development and a fun learning experience!

03.01.2022 Children have demonstrated care, empathy and respect when handling these precious little quails. This learning opportunity has been developing their knowledge of quails and nature. This has been a great opportunity for children to explore their relationships with living things. Our children are demonstrating a growing appreciation for animals as they have watched our quails hatch from a little egg in an incubator. This week we have been handling the quails more and they are forming lovely relationships with the children. Children have learned to interact with them and observe the chicks cues to see if they are happy. This has proved to be a valuable learning experience for our children!
