23.01.2022 It's been a big year of changes and I'm finishing off the year with one more........a re-branding of my Speech Therapy practice! I am excited to announce my new... business name COMMUNIKATE SPEECH THERAPY SERVICES. When I returned to work at the beginning of the year after 6 months maternity leave and recovering from losing 800 acres of the farm in the bushfires, I never imagined the growth and change that 2020 would bring for my little business. I am now lucky enough to have the most incredible team of Therapy Assistants and clinic locations in both Bairnsdale and Sale. Rest assured, we still have a wonderful working relationship and lifelong friendship with Tammy and Liz at Engage and Grow, and will remain in the same building at 31 Macleod Street in Bairnsdale as well as our new home in Sale. Our services have simply evolved in different directions and are best provided under separate business models. We look forward to continuing to work with you and providing integrated and innovative speech therapy services to Bairnsdale and Sale.

21.01.2022 WOW! What an awesome session we had yesterday in Lego Challenge Club. We were focusing on resilience and healthy competition, taking turns, winning and losing graciously, and learning how to give/receive constructive feedback. Everyone had to design and build a game that we could all play. Games were then passed around for everyone to try. The stopwatch was used for some of the games, creating an element of competitiveness, which is often a trigger for kids (oh how I love... pushing those buttons lol) The end result? Brilliant ideas and constructions and excellent sportsmanship, no meltdowns for the losers and not too much bragging from the winners (with the possible exception of me throwing hands in the air and yelling woo hoo winner ) Absolutely brilliant session and lots of fun. Well done kids, well done!

20.01.2022 Are your kids struggling to read? Want them to enjoy it not hate it? Ready Set Read, our fun yet highly effective approach to reading; this program avoids the anxiety attached to learning difficulties and helps children become confident learners.... Reading for fun helps to improve all the obvious things; vocabulary knowledge, spelling and comprehension, but it also helps a lot with self-esteem. Confident readers are confident kids, theyre more willing to take risks in other learning areas and develop a healthy growth mindset. Theyre less likely to be overwhelmed by new tasks or unsettling situations. Follow the link to the expression of interest form http://www.engageandgrowservices.com.au/enrollments/ Or email us at [email protected] Wednesdays 4:00 - 4:45 Starts October 14th for 8 weeks Were getting fantastic results from the current group, as you can see from what these happy mums have to say about the program: Thank you Tammy for helping my little man! This time last year I was at my wits end, not knowing what to do. My grade 3 son was reading at a (barely) grade 1 level and I was unsure what to do next. I knew he was struggling, and his self-confidence was really starting to deteriorate. It upset me hearing him say words like I just cant Mum or Im just stupid Mum So after just 7 sessions in Tammys literacy program, he is kicking goals. He actually WANTS to read now. He is finally happy at school. His teachers have noticed a huge difference and I think he has actually realised that this program is what has helped him So in short..... I cannot recommend this program highly enough. THANK YOU!!! Andrea S This Reading program is fun, inclusive to all children and the results are amazing. My daughter Peyton has a hearing impairment and needed assistance with her literacy skills. After a term of the program Peyton went up reading levels, but it also helped her confidence in herself, and other literacy components just flourished as well. Her writing and spelling has also improved. The girls at Engage and Grow make this program fun and mix the ages which is great. The kids are challenged and improve so fast. Highly recommend this to anyone needing a little extra support with reading or any literacy. Kate Armistead We couldnt be happier with the reading program at Engage, learn and grow. Our little preppie has struggled with her reading, and sound recognition. Tammy picked up the problem within 5 minutes of meeting her, and has been working on it with her since. Her sound recognition and reading has improved immensely. I believe if we hadnt have taken part in this program, she would always be behind her peers. Plus, its so much fun and she asks every day if she can go to reading program. Regards Rachel Watt
