16.01.2022 On the 9th of August, Enliven Housing took part in the SDA Insight Expo, hosted by the Advance Rehab Centre (ARC), who, by the way, is an amazing organisation. Shout out to @Jo-anne Bennett for having the vision and commitment to create this virtual expo, focused on all aspects of SDA. There were 30 speakers who provided a perspective from SDA 101 right through to a Masters of SDA. In light of the current COVID-19 situation preventing visits, we created this short video to allow tenants a quick look at the work progressed to date. Enliven Housing will offer 10 x 2-bedroom SDA apartments for MTA use because we believe MTA should not mean sub-standard accommodation and have chosen Nextt - Disability & Mental Health Support Services the SIL Provider . 09.01.2022 As the founder of Enliven Housing, I am proud to announce two milestones were achieved by the organisation this week. We are now a registered Specialist Disability Accommodation provider. I wish to thank Faye Minty and Jorja Moran for their efforts in making this a reality. We are also celebrating our one year anniversary with the appointment of Erin Smith who has joined us as Marketing and Communication Coordinator this week. Our first Enliven Housing site in San Souci opens... in June 2020. We have 11 excited participants ready to join the Enliven family and work with Civic Disability Services who have been appointed the inaugural SIL for this site. I congratulate Civic Disability Services for embracing our vision to introduce a new model to this sector. The completion of this project will reflect 2 years of inspiration, planning, vision, investigation and commitment to the realisation of a dream. Plans for an accessible upgrade at Thornleigh Station has commenced as part of the Transport Access Program. Some of the new features at Thornleigh station will include: three new lifts to provide access to the station platforms a new family accessible toilet and unisex ambulant toilet... new accessible pedestrian pathways throughout the station precinct and entrances new accessible parking spaces in the commuter car park a new accessible parking space and kiss and ride space on Railway Parade This project is expected to be completed in 2023 and the local community is invited to comment on the accessibility upgrade until 5pm Monday 21 December 2020.
