24.01.2022 International Cafe Devonport had its second birthday celebrations today at Bells Parade. What a wonderful way to make people feel welcome as they make their way living in our community. Its great to make new friends too over a cuppa and something to eat. There were plenty of smiles- thanks Esther Campion for your wonderful Irish sense of humour. (Ask me when you see me- too funny!)... #devonporttas #internationalcafedevonport

15.01.2022 Is your family getting involved? #devonporttas

15.01.2022 Vietnam Vets Day previously known as Long Tan Day was commemorated today at the Devonport RSL Club. MC Gerald ODea ran a smooth operation before a large crowd. It was pleasing to see three local schools laying a wreath- Devonport High School, St Brendans Shaw College and Spreyton Primary School. I have had the pleasure to have strong connections with all of these schools. A great piece of news shared today were the plans for the Tasmanian Vietnam Veterans Memorial to be buil...t at Aikenhead Point extending the current VV memorial. It is beautiful already and the new construction will add to this place of reflection. It will be opened on the 18th August 2021. Seeing the Vets today makes one feel grateful for their contribution to the life we have today. The sacrifice they and their families made should never be forgotten. Many still are suffering. #lestweforget #thankyou

04.01.2022 Devonport High School Redevelopment You may have noticed some activity around the school recently. The great news is that at long last a major upgrade of this public school is taking place. Approximately $10.5 million will be spent with completition expected by October 2021. I was involved way back during the community consultation and gave ideas and feedback.... Today, Principal Mr Peter Bird showed me around and Im excited too. It will be an even greater asset for our city and community. Mr Tim Mead was also on hand to explain progress so far- his company is doing the job. Excellence since 1916 is on the main building and these works will future proof the school. Ill keep you informed of the latest. #devonporttas #devonporthighschool
