24.01.2022 MORRISON NO LONGER IN CONTROL We've seen for weeks now how hard the Prime Minister has found it to respond to what's going on. A new eruption of power is occurring outside his field of control and it's not going away. By Annabel Crabb ABC NEWS Sunday 28Mar2021 Read the full story here:... https://www.abc.net.au//new-power-emerges-in-aus/100030876 [Extract] The first approach he employed was the traditional survival strategy in politics, which has become more popular in the age of the short media attention span. That is to say: Batten down the hatches, deflect and defer, don't read the document, avoid the question, issue general statements but avoid the detail. None of this has worked. Option 2 in the traditional playbook deflection hasn't worked either, particularly well. This is: It's not just us, this stuff happens in workplaces all over Australia, the Labor Party is worse, what about the media, and so on. Option 2 is understandable and it is deployed with real emotion by Scott Morrison because there's some truth to it. Yes, there is bad behaviour on both sides of the place. Yes, there are senior men in the media who should reflect very seriously on their own behaviour around women and would probably be in serious trouble if they were the Member for Wandering Hands right now. And Scott Morrison a man against whom one could never imagine an allegation of sexual misconduct being levelled could rightly feel aggrieved that other men's chickens are coming to roost on him. On Tuesday, the PM tried Option 3: Bargaining. I've listened, I've heard you, here's what I've learned, I'll do better, I'll change things, let's think about quotas. But he switched back to Option 2 pretty fast when provoked, snapping at a News Corp journalist to watch his own backyard, with an allegation subsequently found to be groundless. In short: He's still struggling. Partly with his emotions, which tell him that all this is unfair and not his fault. Like floodwater, the disclosures of recent weeks have come in a mighty rush and the tide brings all sorts of things jumbled within it. In the last parliamentary sitting week we heard that a federal MP had used social media to bully women in his electorate. That male staffers had filmed themselves masturbating over a woman's desk. That a federal minister (female) viewed the drinking culture in Parliament as unhealthy and excluding-of-women. That a senior senator had allegedly expressed the view that a girl drunk enough to have sex in parliament was a possible security risk (the senator denies the comments). Female rage is everywhere, and it's multidirectional. Morrison is in over his head and drowning. Watch him sink even lower as he thrashes about, looking for an easy escape. Perhaps a sudden Hawaiian getaway is coming soon? Enough is Enough.

23.01.2022 NSW BUSHFIRE REPORT HAS BEEN WHITE-ANTED BY NEOLIBERAL CONSERVATIVES THAT WANT TO CLEAR THEIR LAND FOR PROFITS. FED TO THE MEDIA AS BEING IN THE REPORT, HAZARD-REDUCTION BURNING (AS AN EXCUSE FOR LANDCLEARING) IS NOT IN THE REPORT, AND IS A PACK OF LIES. YOU HAVEN’T BEEN TOLD THE TRUTH!

22.01.2022 ANGUS TAYLOR’S GAS-FIRED RECOVERY UNDER FIRE AND BURNING UP Actions to BURN MORE GAS have never had public support, and the Liberal/Nationals pushing through CSG mining related licences and infrastructure contracts are just a public slap in the face for most Global-Warming conscience Australians. REMEMBER THE PREDICTABLE UNPRECEDENTED SMOKE FILLED EXTREME BUSHFIRE BURNING SUMMER OF 2019? These costs of the government’s gas-fired recovery will be quickly passed through to us...ers, or funded by taxpayers in government subsidies to the mining industries. How is that the last century limited mindset to dig it up and burn it is given any credence in this time of limitless renewable energy supplies? Enough is Enough! 21.01.2022 NSW Federal Labor Senator Deb O'Neill doesn't take any prisoners in her Hansard reading of AMP 'Sexual Assault' claims that reveal and confirm such extremely bad behaviour and coverup by AMP Managers and Executives over an extended period of time. AMP remain a financial powerhouse in domestic insurance and financial matters, despite revelations from the Hayne Royal Commission (into financial institutions) that it had charged fees to dead people and misled the corporate regul...ator. Current executive management remain under question of responsibility for the board's past and their own current behaviour, none of which are exempt from question or any future enquiry. The recent resignation of chairman David Murray, and fellow board director (former Treasury secretary) John Fraser, does not remove excuse or liability of bad management behaviorally condoned practices, including unaddressed extended staff sexual assault. In Oct 2019, during the Haynes Royal Commission, AMP shares had lost 75 per cent of their value over the past four years, and the stock had been decimated since peaking in April 2007. AMP was previously financed by AFIC, holding more than $100 million ( or 1.5 per cent of AFIC's funds) invested in the financial services provider, who subsequently withdrew all their support. Aside from the financial consequences of the selldown, the exit of 91-year-old AFIC from the register of 170-year-old AMP is highly symbolic, as it shows one of the nation's establishment investment houses giving up on Australia's oldest wealth manager and one of the nation's most storied blue chip companies. Australian Foundation Investment Company (AFIC) chief executive Mark Freeman confirmed AMP's brand had lost [mostly] all value. The real problem here is that some (mostly male) people in positions of power (management) still think in this day and age that they can exert the influence of their managerial position and use it to inappropriately sexually assault female staff members. That behaviour and attitude is completely inappropriate in any relationship, in the workplace, and in society. Sexist behaviour must stop, must be stopped, and is completely unacceptable. Enough is Enough!

20.01.2022 Do Black Lives Matter in Australia?

19.01.2022 Sussan Ley, Federal Liberal member for Farrer NSW, based out of Albury on the Murray border with VIC Wodonga, remember her? Infamously known for accidentally purchasing a QLD Gold Coast apartment whilst on tax-payer funded government business from an LNP donor to add to her personal family property portfolio, has called for state borders to be opened or widened! She is currently the Minister for Environment. How’s that working out with a Climate Change denying party policy? Extreme drought, bushfires, flooding, and disease. Better to deflect attention and blame state premiers than accept any responsibility for being a major part of the greater problems facing humanity on their watch!!! Enough is Enough!

18.01.2022 Consider this. The US election of 2 Democrats in Georgia on Tues Jan 5 to the Federal Senate has swung the balance of power from Republicans to the Democrats in the Senate. This is following upon the general election last November which also gave the federal congress to the Democrats. Thus, the Democrats now hold the balance of power in the US government, and the political pendulum has swung away from the Republicans and Trump. The Georgia right-wing Senators Kelly Loeffler a...Continue reading

16.01.2022 "National Threatened Species day is held every year on 7 September. This day started in 1996 on the sixtieth anniversary of the last Tasmanian tiger's death, and was declared by our government as "a day to reflect on what happened to the thylacine, and how a similar fate could await other native plants and animals unless appropriate action is taken" The government uses this event to "encourage the community to prevent further extinctions of Australia’s fauna and flora, and... to restore healthy numbers of threatened species and ecological communities in the wild. In my opinion it's about time that our governments took some of their own advice, and listened to their ecologists and scientists. It’s our governments, at all levels, that need to take meaningful actions to protect the ever shrinking habitat that our threatened species rely on to survive. The greatest threats that species like our iconic koalas face, is from grandstanding politicians who like photo opportunities and greenwashing themselves in meaningless speeches at these events. On this day our government’s ask us to "turn the spotlight on native plants, animals, and ecosystems that are under threat and reflect on how we can protect them into the future. I would ask our elected representatives take a minute to reflect. The Threatened Species Day website goes on to point out that in Australia "more than 100 animal and plant species have becomes extinct in the last 200 years and that in NSW alone there are close to 1000 animal and plant species at risk of extinction. Unfortunately our threatened plants and animals will continue their steady decline under the cumulative effects of greed, the lack of will by self serving governments and the anti nature laws they support. All administered by compliant bureaucrats, and watched over by an apathetic public. It was Albert Schweitzer who said Man has lost his capacity to foresee and to forestall. He will end by destroying the earth. Let’s hope not. Mark Selmes Taralga See more

15.01.2022 If we can’t learn from our mistakes, we are destined to repeat them. Trump is a classic authoritarian personality with a fascist rhetorical style. That alone should have rung alarm bells. Yet the label fascist can sometimes hide as much as it reveals about the illiberal tendencies in contemporary American politics. Trump’s presidency exposed the fissures embedded in our democracy, and concentrating only on his fascistic actions ignores the unstable political landscape that ...Continue reading

12.01.2022 HOW CAN WE TRUST THE GOV TO DO THE RIGHT THING, WHEN WE CANNOT TRUST THE PM, AND DO NOT TRUST THE REST OF HIS LYING CHEATING MINISTRY? What has Morrison done, exactly, to oblige the benefit of our doubt? What in the prime minister’s past behaviour suggests his belief in accountability? What suggests that it would be wise or valorous to assume his good faith? Or administrative competency? Or distaste for sordid tactics? 11.01.2022 Business, industry, farming and environmental leaders have joined forces to warn Australia is woefully unprepared for the impact of climate change over the coming decades and to urge the Morrison government to do far more to cut emissions and improve the country’s resilience. 08.01.2022 Society needs to put people before profits to minimise death and disease during a pandemic. Politicians need to put the economy before people, taking the risk that community disease with some deaths is acceptable.
