23.01.2022 Here are some of the FAQs we have received over the past few weeks with regards to online tutoring Q- How do the sessions work? A- The sessions run like a normal tutoring session, with the exception that they are online. This means the tutor will interact with your child via the online platform Zoom! They are able to share their screen, draw on documents and video chat. We have found the students are really loving this new method ... Q- Is it the same price as normal sessions? A- No, online sessions are cheaper than traditional sessions as there is no travel fee. For more information please contact us Q- When can the sessions run? A- As the sessions are online we can be more flexible with times/ days. Let us know what day/time suits you and we will organise a tutor to suit! Most tutors are avaliable Monday- Sunday Q- Are the sessions running in term 2? A- Yes! We are currently going to be running all sessions online in term 2 until further notice. 16.01.2022 The aftermath of a morning of learning! Today we focused on learning numbers 1-10! This involved tracing the numbers with different coloured pens to develop fine motor skills, practicing sequence by placing the number circle above the same purple number (this took some practice but by the end of the session we had it!), and some fun colouring in of our wooden number circles! ... Oh and you may be wondering about the mess We take mess as a sign of an engaging and creative session! Although it does make it easy when the number circles are WIPEABLE! and they pack away in a neat pack! And guess what... these number circles will be avaliable to order sooo SOON! 04.01.2022 Learning numbers 1-10 This activity is a great way to get your child engaged in their learning. This interactive and hands on matching game is perfect if you have a busy little one on your hands! How to play?... 1Simply place items in groups of 1, 2, 3 etc. on the table or floor. We recommend using different shaped/coloured items to engage your child and ensure they can differentiate between quantities. 2 Line up your number circles (Product coming *very* soon ) or post it notes with numbers 1-10 written on. 3 Ask your child: how many (insert name of object) do we have?. If they are able to say the number out loud, encourage them to find the number circle (or post it) and place it next to the number! If your child has difficulty identifying how many are in each pile, and the corresponding number- don’t stress!- simply point to the objects and count with your child. Then find the number together and place it next to the objects. Ask again: how many ... do we have? and follow up with the answer if needed This is a great way to begin teaching your child quantity vs. number value! Plus it’s interactive and fun!
