23.01.2022 In November 2020 we will be celebrating 150 Years of Education at the Napoleons Primary School. This will give us an opportunity to celebrate the rich history of pupils, staff, parents and community members over the past 150 years. We are looking for your help to bring this celebration to life. To do this, we are inviting you to provide a short video message that we will use during this event. Each message will go for no longer than 20 seconds per person. INSTRUCTIONS: Please... film your video in landscape to allow consistency through the final document. Using your phone, iPad, or tablet film yourself saying the following: A greeting (hi, hello, howdy or something similar) Your name (first and surname, and your maiden name from school if its applicable) Class of (the last year you attended/graduated) If you have the time, and are able could you also please include some of the following (please note we are trying to limit individual submissions to around 20 seconds): I remember when (a fond memory of school) My favourite teacher was: My education at Napoleons has helped me achieve (whatever your most proud of) If a parent/guardian or community member, perhaps something from the following: I remember when (a fond memory of school) What the school community means to you. 17.01.2022 Tuesday 17th March I trust all families received a letter yesterday explaining that, due to Government and Department if Education measures to reduce instances of COVID-19 (coronavirus), Linton Athletics Day scheduled for Friday has been cancelled. All camps and excursions have been cancelled until further notice. There is no attendance at any event with community members above 500 people until further notice. Grandparents’ Day has been cancelled. We hope to reschedule this ...for later in the year. We will run an in-house sporting afternoon for our students on Friday 1pm. In case the Department of Education decide to close schools in the coming week, we have decided we will have our Easter egg hunt this Friday at 2:30pm. If any member of the school community is unwell, showing flu-like symptoms, they should remain home for two weeks and seek medical advice. If there is concern that the illness is the coronavirus, they should contact the school and the principal. Please be assured that we are prepared for school closure, should that be necessary. Parents will receive written notification as new developments in the COVID-19 situation becomes available. The health and well-being of our students, staff and their families remains our highest priority. See more

16.01.2022 I have spoken with VicRoads this afternoon and had confirmed that Nolan’s Road is open and from there, you can access the Buninyong end of Scotchman’s Lead Road and either head left to Ballarat or right to Buninyong. Colac-Ballarat Rd is closed from Nolan’s Road to Lacy’s Road. Drive safely everyone the road closure was due to a fatal car accident, it may have been a local Napoleons person known to some of you (I don’t have a name yet). The rain makes driving conditions ver...y hazardous, so please, please take the best of care as you head home and back to work tomorrow. Sue Izard Acting principal See more

08.01.2022 We had a great day for the last day of term today...Winter Woollies Day!! Thanks to So Soft for their wonderful donation of yummy marshmallows.

06.01.2022 Following advice from the Victorian Government on Tuesday 7th April, Napoleons Primary School will be moving to remote and flexible learning from the beginning of Term 2. Tuesday 14th April is a pupil free day and student learning will begin on Wednesday 15th April. If a child can learn from home, they must learn from home. Access to on-site supervision will be provided for students only under limited circumstances and on days when they are not able to be supervised at home a...nd no other arrangements can be made. All staff, children and young people who are unwell must remain at home. This transition is in place to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). This means that all students who can learn at home must learn from home. This is a very clear directive from the Victorian Government based on the advice of the Chief Health Officer. It is important that we work together and support each other during this challenging time. We will be in touch with parents and carers shortly with further details of what remote and flexible learning will look like at our school. In the meantime, you might find it useful to look at the Department’s Learning from Home website. It provides resources and guidance for parents and carers as well as schools. https://www.education.vic.gov.au//Pag/learningfromhom.aspx The Department’s latest advice on coronavirus can be found at https://www.education.vic.gov.au/coronavirus Please continue to stay safe and healthy. This means we will receive music mentoring from our Song Room Teaching Artist, Ming, beginning next Wednesday, plus some other very exciting things to keep an eye out for!
