24.01.2022 "Introducing Tony, my new contrabass clarinet." Maknongan (1976), composed by Giacinto Scelsi. Published by Durand Salabert Universal Classical. Released as part of Lone Hemispheres: The Solo Sessions. ... Performed by Jason Noble (Contrabass Clarinet). "Introducing Tony, my new contrabass clarinet. Tony and I really enjoyed getting out of the house, dressing up and collaborating with the wonderful Michelle St Anne. Giacinto Scelsi’s Maknongan can be performed on any bass instrument, so it was a fitting choice for Tony’s first video recording." Jason Noble Lone Hemispheres is Ensemble Offspring’s solo series, highlighting modern masterpieces alongside new Australian solo works. For our 2020 solo sessions, creative designer, Michelle St Anne was asked to direct the 12 videos. She writes My theme was 'all dressed up with no place to go', hence the socks and bare feet combined with high fashion. The videos are in black and white and a still life is featured on the left of the performer for each work, highlighting how the mundane of everyday life can become poetic over time. 2020 Ensemble Offspring Recorded at BAKER STREET STUDIOS, Sydney Video & Sound by Matt McGuigan, Hospital Hill Creative Direction by Michelle St Anne, The Living Room Theatre Ensemble Offspring is supported by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts advisory body, and the NSW Government through Create NSW. Lone Hemispheres Solo Sessions were supported by the City of Sydney. We live and play on Gadigal land.

09.01.2022 Another charming review thanks to Classikon - thanks Adam Jeffrey for your support :) "It was a pleasure to discover how the warmth of the Cell Block only enhanced the piece’s sound world without muddying the clarity of its interweaving lines." "an ethereal sound world characterised by languid long tones, almost all of which were some sort of extended technique for each instrument. Morton Feldman would’ve loved it, and so did I."

07.01.2022 Back in March 2020, the amazing series who toured us around Scotland and Ireland last year, The Night With, won a big award - the SMIA Award for Creative Programming (Scottish Awards for New Music). Here is Matthew Whiteside, the Artistic Director of The Night With, with the beautiful award which he finally picked up thanks to COVID. We are so proud to have been featured in the 2019 season alongside Duo van Vliet, Garth Knox, The Hermes Experiment, Tom Poulson, Danielle Price, Timothy Cooper and Turning the Elements. 06.01.2022 Short tour, big love.

05.01.2022 Our Musical Microparks tickets available via Sydney Festival website from 9am this morning. FYI this is our postponed Fever Pitch event with a new name (who wants to think about fevers right now?) If you happened to buy a ticket to our first iteration back in April which was cancelled due to COVID then we would be very happy to refund you so that you can use the cash to buy a new ticket via SF. We are so happy that Sydney Festival have come on board as a partner for this event (along with City of Sydney) - Wesley Enoch has been amazing in his support of local arts companies in need of a partner after a plethora of cancellations this year! We can't wait!!!
