20.01.2022 Today officially marks Elvis's birth date; and if he were alive today, he would've been 86 years young...and still breaking hearts and smashing out hits...slowly but surely! I reckon he'd be flattered and proud of the legions of impersonators (that take his legacy seriously). I think if Elvis were alive today, he would be free of that Tom Parker, toured Oz and at the bequest of Simon Cowell, be the main judge on "America's Got Talent!" Imagine that... 16.01.2022 An actual lunch-time show, between 12 noon and 1pm, when some of their favourite's came out. Headlining the show was a mouth-watering Barramundi for all, followed by a flavoursome lemon cheesecake...sensational! Don't get me wrong, I gave a great show, but today l was easily topped by their amazing chef. 06/04/2021

16.01.2022 "Call out your favourite Footy team and I'll sing the club's theme song to a backing track!" I should've had a clause to prohibit "Good Old Collingwood Forever" being sung, but l didn't expect two proud Collingwood supporters to be in the audience today...and they wanted it sung twice (once each). Figured why not; hopefully it be the only time that song be heard of this year. The rest of us can only hope! 12/01/2021

15.01.2022 A one hour show for 2 bus loads of people, but unfortunately the second bus was a half hour late. The prank was when the latecomers arrive and take a seat, l will finish a song and announce what a fabulous audience they have been...thankyou and good day, see you real soon; love you all...and to sell the prank, the first bus load of patrons would cheer and give me a standing ovation, saying see you soon in return. As l walked away waving at the audience whilst blowing kisses, ...the second bus load was sooo confused...some disappointed. One patron took it out on the poor driver as he was double checking his watch. I left the building...then returned only to tell all, "Thankyou, thankyou...but for the rest of you...you've been PRANKED! Show starts in 10 minutes." 12.01.2022 Love this show...their fave's and mine. The show's song opener "Do Wah Diddy", is up there as one of the best for the joy it brings. The resi's have their bit and the enjoyment begins when some inevitably stuff it up. The "Do Wah Diddy" bit often twist tongues, but no one cares...and why should they, when we're all gathered to have fun! 29/03/2021

It became an interesting variation of Swing, Jazz, Pop, Rock 'n' Roll and Ballads. 06.01.2022 Today's challenge was for me to perform songs that affect the majority of these resi's in certain ways. 1. Joyous and inspiring...several from "...Tipperary" to "Que Sera Sera" 2. High energy and enjoyable..."...Coconuts", "When The Saints..." and "She'll Be Coming 'Round The Mountain" 3. Reminiscent and adoring... a few Elvis love songs and the ever popular "You Are My Sunshine"...then 4. A song that has the potential above all songs to envoke displeasure amongst the major...ity...the "Port Power Club Theme Song"...and l was right. They booed as l sang, but that's ok. 06.01.2022 The perfect place to try out new songs, with many ex Servicemen and Women residing here. Today these marching songs got a guernsey; "...Tipperary" and "Pack Up Your Troubles..." Age had slowed them down, but not their enthusiasm. 04.01.2022 Always a party atmosphere here. They love their songs and a good story...especially those about a young and naughty kid named Martin. Lucky for us, l have enough stories for many more shows to come. A pre Anzac Day Show today, with traditional songs and relevant stories...with my usual tomfoolery to round off the hour. Why the tomfoolery?...because it's Rita's Birthday...and l meant it when l sang, "...and Helen say's you can do what you like, so shout hip hip hooray. For Rita's a jolly good fellow, she's 24 today!" Should she take the "...do what you like..." literally, Rita can always blame me. 03.01.2022 A belated Remembrance Day Show. Feel good songs that had everyone singing and smiling in the afternoon. The staff said the best part was the after show. Most resi's stayed behind to hear my personal connection to a batch of songs l sang arcapella. "Smile" by Nat King Cole was one of them. Beautifully written and sung, but it's Jerry Lewis' rendition that got me. For years Jerry hosted a Labor Day Variety Show Telethon for Muscular Dystrophy. A charity close to his heart, as h...is son was born with this disability. As a kid, I watched these annual charity drives on tv. Jerry was my favourite comedian, therefore l was easily drawn to anything he did...and saddened by his and their plight. Then at the tv special's end, when all were elated and thankful with the donated pledges...Jerry sang "Smile", to close off. That moment lives on... 13/11/2020 See more
