25.01.2022 Great news for all photographers, especially students: EPIC STUDIOS now has two shooting spaces! Studio 2 is now available starting at $215 for a half day. It's a choose-your-own-adventure shooting space perfect for: Headshots, product photography, food photography, portraiture, flatlays, and custom setups. Add a paper roll for fashion, or a light table for product. 23.01.2022 I doubt Australia will be going into lockdown, given the measures we've taken early. But if we do, Epic Studios will happily apply your studio booking deposit to a rescheduled shoot. I mean we'd have to be pretty big douchebags not to. 19.01.2022 Every time someone enters the studio for the first time the first thing they say is "Oh, it's bigger than it looks in the photos." So as unexcited as I am about being in images, here I am standing in the studio so you can get a feel for its actual size. To give you further reference, I'm 188cm (6'2") tall. Hope this gives some perspective :) See you in the studio soon!

15.01.2022 Food Photographers: I have awesome news. Epic Studios finally has a full kitchen! It features induction cooktop with rangehood, electric oven, microwave and dishwasher as well as sink with rinse basin. We will supply the pots and pans, you just bring the ingredients :) Along with Studio 2 (soon to be announced) hire, this will start at $260 +gst for a half day. 14.01.2022 6 Years ago today Chris Garbacz and Mark Fitzgerald (me) were working our asses off building this studio and the offices within. I don't think I've ever done anything as physically demanding as this enormous undertaking. This photo of Chris sitting atop the mountain of plaster that would become our walls always makes me laugh. A good reminder of how far we've come :)

11.01.2022 Covid Update for Photographers: Epic Studios is still open during the lockdown. Below are some answers to common questions I was getting during the last lockdown. If you have more questions, even if it's not studio related, please ask them here and I will do my best to research answers and come back to you!

09.01.2022 We've made the transition to Broncolor. It's still light, just nicer.

06.01.2022 We're still open... For now. I'm aware that some studios are closing down temporarily, for obvious reasons. I think this is very responsible and I support that decision. We have decided to remain available because we know there are some projects that still need to go ahead. So to allow this to happen we have put the following requirements in place: 1) Hand wash stations in male and female bathrooms and kitchen are armed with anti-bacterial handwash. Use them often please.... 2) Teams will be limited to no more than 7 people to allow social distancing protocols to be observed. To enable this we will include both studios in the hire price to allow you to spread out your production. 3) We encourage the use of masks and gloves where practicable. 4) Cancellation and rescheduling fees are temporarily waived. So if something changes and your shoot can't go ahead, your deposit is safe. The next round of shutdowns will probably take us out as well, so jump on this super quick. 03.01.2022 Congratulations to the March winners of our Epic Legup competition: Wynona Stock and Ly Heng, who wowed our team with their great work and excellent drive for success. I know everyone says this after every comp, but it really was insanely difficult to make this decision, so much so that we felt the need to announce two winners. The standard of work was very high. Thank you to everyone for your nominations and, since we won't announce the same winners twice, please nominate again in next month's comp because there were some very deserving nominees in there! More exciting things coming very soon :D
