I mean as much as I love you Bec Caslick and Warwick Vale three vet visits in 1 wk is more then enough, plus a lesson that couldn’t happen & a walk only saddle fit But some people have a bad week and eat chocolate or drink... 11.01.2022 I’ve heard a few things second hand and I feel the need to write this, especially as I know that many others are in the same boat. Just because I seem ok on th...e outside does not mean I am. Just because I appear I’m coping well doesn’t mean that I don’t want to crawl up into a ball and cry. My heart is shattered into a million pieces and I’m grieving for memories & treasured items lost as well as memories that will never be. But on top of that I feel guilty because everyone in my family (except yellow cat) is safe & healthy and around me I have friends grieving for family members (not fire related) & going through their own personal tragedies and I want to help them but I need help also. It’s extremely conflicting. Just because I’m making jokes about the situation & having a laugh & a smile doesn’t mean anything it’s my method of coping not crashing and I need to keep upbeat & positive for Blake when inside I feel like giving up. For myself and others we are self employed. We have lost our places of work/livelihoods as well as our homes. I have lost around 75% of my business (aside from the beautiful people) and I’m not sure where to even start to get that back up and running..... I’m not in the right mental state for customer service or massage but then you also have the added guilt of not being there for your clients. Two legged and four. What keeps me going though is watching how amazing the community of Perth, especially the hills and the horse community are. The generosity of total strangers, and those willing to dedicate time and money to people they barely know. If we don’t seem grateful enough for your donations, help etc it’s not because we don’t appreciate it it’s because we are so overwhelmed we can’t express it properly. It’s not a situation we find ourselves in often and I know myself and a few others (Nellandra Henry I’m thinking especially of you) are very independent women and accepting help is very difficult! We’re better at offering it. Because we didn’t reply to your message it doesn’t mean we don’t care, it most likely means our brains are fuzzy and we can’t think of the right words! And lastly, if you ask us what we need and we say ‘nothing’ it doesn’t mean nothing it just means that when you have lost your entire life’s possessions that question is too big and people don’t know how to comprehend what they need as well as how to answer it. I appreciate everything everyone is doing from the bottom of my heart and it hurts that I will never be able to repay all these acts of kindness in one lifetime I love you all xxxxx See more

Thank you to everyone who made this possible there are too many of you to mention but you know who you are But the biggest thank you to the amazing Gail Simms at Zia Park Equestrian Centre & Horse Riding School for housing them got the last two months, I just can’t imagine where they would have ended up otherwise! Everyone there has been unbelievable and made life so easy xxxxx fantastic place to ride too

06.01.2022 It’s that time of year again when we look for our 2021 Equestricare Ambassadors! We have openings for two competition riders, two junior riders (under 25) and two everyday riders. Based in WA!! Competition riders will be competing at an official level with a desire to go to the top of their field and looking to help their horses achieve their optimum. Junior riders will be similar to competition riders but under 25yrs in 2021.... Everyday riders are those who are just in it for fun and want to learn how to help their horses themselves. Ambassadors will have the option of either a monthly complimentary massage for their chosen horse (discounts for other horses) or complimentary attendance at our educational programs in order to help their own horses. They will also receive liniments, discount vouchers they can give out, books & DVD’s and red light and uniform items. As a thank you for their place in our ambassador program we expect the ambassador to tag equestricare in all relevant posts, acknowledge us as a sponsor and write a monthly post for Equestricare. Applications open on October 1st and will be open for the entire month with the successful applicants announced in November. Applications should be emailed to [email protected] and address the applicants current Equestrian achievements, plans for the future, why they would be interested in being an ambassador & why we should select them. We look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to tag friends or share with anyone you think would be interested.

05.01.2022 ** Dressage Issues: Jaw and Poll Problems ** A VERY common problem in dressage horses (and other disciplines) is that there is a reduced mobility of the poll (C...0-C1) and jaw joints which results in a bend at C1-C2. I have crudely circled them in the images. The yellow circle shows the incorrect forced pivot at C1-C2 and the red X is indicating the reduced mobility of the poll (C0-C1) and the TMJs. The bend at C1-C2 is incorrect and will be causing not only discomfort but inhibit performance and mobility. The motions of the poll at C0-C1 (where the head is attached to the top of the neck) includes flexion and extension as well as sidebending. The motion here is very reliant upon local structures such as the immediate bones ie Occiput (C0) and Atlas (C1) as well as local joints such as the TMJs. It is even affected by distant joints such as the sacro-iliacs. Reduced motion of these related joints will reduce the mobility of the poll (C0-C1). One such cause is excessively strong bridle and bits as well as training methods. This puts a huge strain on the poll and TMJs. As a result of reduced motion of the poll (C0-C1), the next joint C1-C2 (made of the Atlas and Axis) begins to flex. This joint should rotate. Flexion and extension here is incorrect. You can see in the two images randomly taken from Google that the neck is flexing at C1-C2 and NOT C0-C1. C0-C1 (the poll) is clearly not moving in either image. Unfortunately this is an all too common finding within the equine world. It causes a lot of discomfort in the horses and hugely affects performance. This discomfort can even lead to gastric ulcers. Improving the mobility is key but since there are issues distant within the body it is incredibly important to mobilise the entire body not just the poll and TMJs. If you notice this on your horse you would be wise to investigate it sooner rather than later.
