21.01.2022 Today we treated a little critter with some serious dental issues, some due to big sized horse teeth in his little size Shetland frame Dave detected a slab fracture in a molar tooth which was dislodged and impacting on the cheek tissue so much so that the cheek tissue was perforated which must have been there for some time causing grief and discomfort to this pony, fortunately through Dave’s persistence and experience it was removed What’s most disappointing to hear is that ...the owner had spent good hard earned money only recently with a horse dentist and had no idea this pony had this problem So who ever treated this critter either did not examine and diagnose sufficiently or did and did not have the capability to treat. Either way it’s just not good enough So as a horse owner ask some questions from those people you are spending your hard earned money with Are they qualified ? Where did they get their education from ? How long in business? Your horse and your wallet will benefit See more

18.01.2022 Ready to start our third day here in the silver city Broken Hill we have been well supported whilst treating the horses A slight change of plans as we decided to head to Little Topar We are taking a visit out to watch the Camp draft at Little Topar on Saturday. 18.01.2022 Our house is on lockdown please respect our decision and do not come to our house. The only time we will be leaving is for feeding our livestock and shopping when we need essentials We have made a decision to stop all work outside from our property as tough as that is I hope as many of you are doing the same.... Together we can beat this virus. If we don't move the virus has nowhere to go. The virus can't spread if it has no one to spread to. 15.01.2022 Just received a message from our client of many years happy beyond words, after treating their horse who had recently displayed a very quirky habit at feed time with his feed bucket. A fairly straightforward treatment checking for dental abnormalities which non were apparent we were unable to throw any light as to why this critter was doing some strange things only at feed time with his bucket. Tonight’s feed he did not behave as he had done for some time Obviously he felt something had changed in his mouth and now we can only hope the quirky behaviour is something of the past So the moral to this wee tale is watch your horses if their behaviour changes they may just be talking to you the only way they can, be observant so you can help

13.01.2022 Little Topar Draft done and dusted Picked up quite a few extra horses there Great to see some lovely people again ( Annie Manion ) and watch some rather cool riding Couldn’t believe my eyes the huge number of youth at this event and lots of classes for them to have a crack at The ‘mutton busters’ ride hysterical to watch especially the fierce some wee ones of Sammy Jo Fields ...
