25.01.2022 It is widely known that dry Salt Therapy has antibacterial properties and Halotherapy is safe. The current evidence also supports relieving symptoms of upper and lower respiratory conditions. It is important to keep those horses healthy in this uncertain world! #helpinghorsesbreathebetter... Our equine salt sessions include the owner or trainer, and that means an opportunity for YOU to get yourself a healthy salt session, as well. 25.01.2022 Our treatment suits horses who are suffering from respiratory or skin conditions. It is ideal for the ‘warrior’ style horse that competes on a regular basis and is useful for both pre and post racing. Additionally, we often see great results in older horses who may be suffering from depletion in mineral salts and rejuvenation of the cells that are lost in their day to day workloads. http://equinesalttherapy.com/treatments/ hi there equine new and old customers I am in Townsville treating this weekend I have appointments available for late afternoons Saturday and Sunday and also Monday morning for your 3 day treatment at $70 plus gst (77.50) per treatment per horse. Hope to hear from you. Please share this with your Townsville friends thank you Samantha Redgrave owner/manager Equine Salt Therapy NQ and surrounding areas

24.01.2022 In order to prevent the spread of disease and infections in horses it’s important to have the proper bio security measures in place. Salt lined nostrils can act as an antibacterial barrier to some of these nasties. #protectyourhorse Our treatment suits horses who are suffering from respiratory or skin conditions. 16.01.2022 Weekly Research Focus Does riding in a bitless bridle limit or prevent Dynamic Laryngeal Collapse? Upper respiratory tract (URT) obstruction is a common cause of poor performance in racehorses and a major cause of lost earnings and wastage from training. Bits have often been incriminated as a cause of upper respiratory tract obstruction in horses but there are no scientific studies confirming or disproving this hypothesis. Dynamic laryngeal collapse (DLC) associated wit...h poll flexion is a form of URT collapse that is only seen when horses exercise on the bit. It is characterised by bilaterally symmetric vocal fold collapse, with some degree of concurrent arytenoid cartilage collapse that can result in moderate to severe inspiratory obstruction [1]. The disorder quickly resolves when horses are ridden off the bit and exercise with a more extended head and neck carriage. Recently, researchers in Norway have investigated whether use of a propriety bitless bridle (Dr Cook’sTM Bitless Bridle), instead of a conventional snaffle bit bridle, would reduce the severity of DLC in affected horses measured objectively using inspiratory tracheal pressures [2]. 14.01.2022 For horses, salt therapy is akin to intravenous saline treatment in humans. But, with the use of our technology, we are able to help achieve rapid hydration with essential mineral salts in an environment that's dry and non-invasive. All the horse has to do is stand and breathe! #equinesalttherapyNQ

13.01.2022 VALE SUBZERO Sadly at 2.30 this afternoon, Subzero was euthanised at his Heathcote home, with Anita and Nicole Salisbury by his side. Subzero has fought off many health issues in his long 32-year-old lifetime, but today developed acute decompensated heart failure. This led to the decision to put him to sleep in a gentle and dignified manner at his home. Subbie’s last check-up was performed four days ago, and included an ultrasound exam of his heart and lungs, which have bee...n holding up well until today. Upon developing further clinical signs this morning, he was put to sleep before suffering any pain or distress. Subzero, Australia’s most iconic and most well- loved horse will be missed by all. We extend our sincere condolences to the Salisbury family.

12.01.2022 Horses are natural athletes. Their respiratory system is pivotal to this - a healthy horse at rest takes 10 to 14 breaths per minute, inhaling upwards of 150 liters of air in that time, which increases with exercise. That’s a lot of breathing! Learn more about what it takes to keep your horse’s respiratory system healthy! https://www.homeopet.com/respiratory-allergies-in-horses/

11.01.2022 Good morning beautiful people of North Queensland and surrounding area as you know I own and manage Equine salt therapy I am thinking of incorporating this into the service Equine Equissage massage for horses. What do you all think ?

11.01.2022 Salt is our first line of defence when it comes to protecting our Salt chambers from bacteria and in conjunction with this we have strict cleaning procedures and guidelines. This is all underpinned by regular hygiene swabs to protect the horses, practitioners and handlers alike. Our chambers have a dual sanitisation offering. With the ability to treat lungs and skin at the same time we are protecting horses from disease and bacteria inside and out. #equinesalttherapyNQ

09.01.2022 Due to unforeseen circumstances with this virus around I have decided to with great thought to wait for this virus to go. Due to health risk to myself and our equine family and owners. I will resume treatments when this virus has gone and there is no risk. Equine salt therapy NQ NQ and surrounding areas

09.01.2022 For those people who still insist in tying their horses mouth shut!!! The Temperomandibular joint (TMJ) is The joint with the most proprioceptive nerves in the horse’s entire body". When the horse’s lower jaw cannot move, it cannot, therefore, ‘transmit’ accurate positioning data to the horse’s body, which results in poor movement and performance.... TMJ dysfunction reaction in horses are as follows: Balance may be impaired Ability to perform lateral movements will be impaired Range of motion of the cervical vertebrae will be impacted Contraction of the long hyoid muscles can put other muscles into spasm and tension The horse wants to ‘go behind the bit’ to relieve tension in the muscles between the hyoid and the scapula and/or the sternum It sets the stage for a hollow back It shortens the horse’s stride STILL Want ot tie the horses mouth shut?
