22.01.2022 Sharing is caring. HARRY GETS ALONG WITH EVERYBODY, as long as everybody plays nice. Harry is a great lead horse, a natural leader he doesn't rule by aggression, infact he uses as little force as possible but AS MUCH as necessary. He doesn't micromanage he is just a cool calm influence that guides others to make good decisions. This is the thing about horses and leadership. Harry doesn't bribe anyone to be his mate, and he isn't a bully. He leads by example and horses naturally follow. Message of the day : IF I WANT MY HORSES TO LOVE ME..... BE LIKE HARRY.

22.01.2022 There is a first time for everything. ROYS first ride at the beach. The hardest part is allowing the horse to make the mistake. In Roy's case the mistake was following the race horses. As the race horses run up frombehind he would Trot forward and try to leave with the new TB herd. @shonoozey did a great job of alowing him make the mistake of trotring forward before doing the opposite to engage. DISENGAGE. Then it was easy to ask Roy to resume the exercise - walking forwar...d next to Bellas shoulder. BROWNIES - are typically a little silly, a little bossy, not 100% sure of the world, not 100% sure where their feet should be, enjoy pushing on things like the stable door or the paddock gate. Who would have thought that you can't just go grab a young horse and tie him to a post..... so naive. 09.01.2022 One of the most important sessions of the day. Coffee stop. A horse should feel confident to stand and wait when the float comes to a stop. For Horses that pour and get restless I often suggest an old experienced travel buddy and a coffee stop. Be careful not to rush to get your horses off the float. Every time you pull into the drive way or arrive at a lesson, give you and your young horse the extra time you need to make sure you are building solid life lessons.
