22.01.2022 Why choose us for your mini me? Responsibility Horses teach responsibility very quickly. The horse depends on the child for everything; food, water, care; its their job to keep this animal alive essentially. When working with a horse, everything it does is because of the childs actions; they are solely responsible for anything the horse does whether, good or bad. Its never the horses fault. Even down to an emotive sense, how they act affects how the horses act, so t...Continue reading

18.01.2022 Riding/Horsemanship is one of the few sports that supports social distancing, promotes a bond with a friend who will always be loyal to you and nickers when he sees you... gives you great exercise, balance and core strength can be done alone or in small groups and still keep 6 feet away from each other. Plus its good for the soul!...

13.01.2022 COVID-19 Protocols at EquiTune - not much has changed * Everyone entering EquiTune must apply their own hand sanitizer - there are also some near the sink as well as in the grooming kits (this has always been the case ) Please re-apply every hour.... We have antibacterial soap at the kitchen sink in the tack room. Saddles, halters, ropes and brushes should be wiped down with disinfecting wipes before and after use. (Slight change) Practice "social distancing" at all times - do not come closer than 6 feet or 2 meters from another person. (This is new) If you feel unwell or have a family member who is ill, please stay home. (Thank you to everyone who has been doing this!) EquiTune is only open to people who are coming for sessions, agistees and part leasers. Please book through the online system. Anyone entering EquiTune must not arrive earlier than 1 hour before their session and must leave 1 hour after their time and this should be whilst handling their horse. If you or a family member have traveled outside of the country in the past 14 days, PLEASE STAY HOME. Thank you.

12.01.2022 Why do horse owners ask you not to feed their horses? Why do we get upset that you have driven to our property and are feeding our horses carrots over/through the fence? (In my case through a 6ft fence with barbwire on the top and an additional electric fence that you are tempting them to get zapped by). You might think one carrot wont hurt. 1. You do not know if the horse has special dietary considerations. Feeding a horse that is intolerant to sweets and treats (carro...Continue reading

09.01.2022 Due to COVID-19 restrictions of only 2 people together at any gathering (except funerals and weddings). We are updating our schedules to accommodate these new rules. Only 1 on 1s will be scheduled and our part leases and agistees will be staggered in visiting the property so that only 1 client is on the property at any time. Hopefully everyone abides by the new rules and we will be doing our group sessions as well as our group rides out once again very soon Stay healthy, ... virtual big hugs from the herd Online booking system updated and timings for our weekly regulars booked out in calendar. www.EquiTune.com.au See more

09.01.2022 What can you learn from our horses? 1 Identifying and Coping with Feelings Many people struggling with addictions, trauma and other mental health issues (or just LIFE) have learned that feeling is painful. Playing with a horse is a powerful way to get in touch with thoughts and feelings. Instead of using their minds to address problems, which often leads to denial, blaming others or intellectualizing their way around the problem, they use their bodies and hearts to feel and ...Continue reading

02.01.2022 Boss man and some of his beautiful herd. We know our team inside and out in order to understand every small communication that is coming our way. It is a journey that has taken years. The medical professionals we work with are open to the feedback from our herd and the results speak for themselves. Each session is different and each horse has something insightful to offer. Our horses are highly trained and know their job so well that they completely reflect their handler. T...his doesnt happen over night. Playing with our herd is a journey of self discovery and connection. Our horses are switched on, use their brains, compete, are athletes, are NOT horses that go round behind each other numbly, they dont play follow the leader but be my partner, they dont follow blindly - they will walk beside you, you dont have to hold on tightly but loosely as they sync their steps to yours, they choose whether they play with you or not including in and out of the saddle or bare back, they ask for clear communication, they ask for you to be consistent, they ask for you to be fair, we dont pull kick or make, they will get upset if you bounce around on their back and hurt them, they will give you what you ask for, they offer empathy, they will ask you to step up and show leadership skills, they will ask for scratches or cuddles, they are only ridden by coaches learning to empower their teachings or their part leases who are investing in their wellbeing and their partnership, they enjoy mindfulness, they will catch you in the paddock, they wait patiently for their regulars at the time they usually arrive (some may get upset if youre late - which is quite funny), they love working as it is their play time, they have their own unique personalities, they have a lot of rest days each week that are sacred - more if they need them, when its too hot - we listen, they dont live 247 in stables but do enjoy popping in though the Rhodes grass paddocks are really enticing at the moment, we value their input, we listen to them, they live as a herd with all the friendships that come from this environment, they are fed diets that complement their needs and their well-being is of utmost importance to everyone who interacts with them. EquiTune is for those that truely love horses and see them as the beautiful beings that they are with opinions, emotions and our partners.
