25.01.2022 THEY SAY THERES A FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING Today we successfully collected our first ever Donkey! Pedro arrived to us on Monday & having never really stepped off his home property since he was imported, he took a couple of days to settle in to his new environment. After much contemplation of how we were going to achieve this, it ended up being a piece of cake! Pedro, the old pro, showed us just how smart Donkeys are. Here he is with our champion Jack/ Stallion handler &... Veterinarian, Susanne, telling him what a good boy he is. Pedro had a smile from ear to ear...And they’re certainly the biggest ears we’ve ever seen!! His jovial bray is the loudest, most sensational sound & it brings a smile to everyone’s faces. .....If Breeding Season gets a little too hectic & suddenly, no one can find me...You can bet I’ll be hanging out with Pedro. #donkey #mules #donkeysofinstagram Black Jack Mules Susanne Brundell

06.01.2022 GUESS WHAT THESE 3 HAVE IN COMMON? What an honour it is to have 3 highly decorated mares at the Breeding Centre at once. We’re working tirelessly in the hope of producing some future champions.

04.01.2022 We’re very glad to be able to give off the track Standardbreds & Thoroughbreds a new home & a new future as recipient mares. Here we have a beautiful Standardbred mare EBC Twiggy. A terrific first time Mum to this stunning little Warmblood foal. #foalsofinstagram #offthetrackstandardbred

04.01.2022 WANTED: RECIPIENT MARES Do you have a mare/ mares sitting in the paddock not doing anything? One you're finished competing on & don't wish to breed? Equivet Breeding Centre provides an Embryo Transfer program, where we take a fertilised embryo from your mare & transfer this embryo into a recipient, who then carries the pregnancy & rears the foal. This allows mares to remain in competition, whilst producing progeny at the same time. This season we have an increased number of b...ookings for Embryo Transfer, creating the need to expand our Recipient herd. If you have or know of any suitable mares that tick the following criteria, we would love to hear from you. Mares must be: - Young (preferably under the age of 10) - Fertile & Reproductively sound - Healthy & sound in themselves, with good feet - Easy to handle Please Phone: 07 4691 0322 or Email: [email protected]

03.01.2022 Well, with much excitement we are happy to say our lovely purebred Akhal Teke mare Gubilee, who was the last purebred Akhal Teke to be foaled in Australia bein...g bred by Tom and Dawn Thomsen nearly 9 years ago, has foaled a beautiful filly Amadelle. Amadelle is by Amadei Geli and named for my Mum Adelle, whose birthday it is today. Gubilee was happy for a little help last night but now is super protective so pics taken from a distance! Not sure of colour but who knows with Tekes!! We would like to thank both Tom and Dawn for entrusting their wonderful Akhal Tekes with us, Jess in WA for getting Amadei Geli semen into Australia, Julia in Germany for ensuring collection for Australia, Dilute Stallions International and the very talented Robyn from Equivet Breeding Centre, a specialty equine reproduction practice in Queensland and operated by Max Wilson and Robyn Woodward for the positive pregnancy! 03.01.2022 CHILLED OR FROZEN SEMEN? With Covid-19 casting doubt over the timely shipment of chilled semen, it is a great idea for stallion owners to make frozen semen available - as a back up! Including "Shines Like Metallic," we have a number of stallions on the books - with frozen semen waiting in our nitrogen tanks. Contact the owner of your desired stallion to find out whether you can get access to frozen semen, in order to avoid disappointment this breeding season.
