23.01.2022 EMRT FIRST AID ASSISTS IN CHOKE ...So proud of a couple of our EMRT Equine first aid people....a horse belonging to a friend develop choke after gorging on dr...y pellets they got in touch with me for assistance.. and said the horse had been like this for 24 hours... with classic symptoms of choke.. including the nasal mucus... he was breathing ok... but could not swallow they applied the EMRT first aid moves for CHOKE.. including opening up the diaphragm ... they repeated this until he became comfortable .. the next day he still had choke ...they worked with him EMRT FIRST AID .. including massaging down his oesophagus to try and get the dry matter into his stomach... When a horse gorges on dry pellets... enough to create a ball in their oesophagus ...the dry food will pull fluid out of the tissues of the oesophagus making the ball even bigger and harder to go down .....and also damaging tissues in the oesophagus... EMRT practitioners would use moves from the lymphatic drainage procedure for CHOKE.... but if you have a horse with this ...just gently massage and stroke the underside of the neck going down into the chest if you haven't got an EMRT first aider on hand...this will help to relax the esophagus until the vet arrives... when you have choke like this the most important thing is to be able to get the vet and nasal tube the horse with oil or other liquid that will dissolve the bolus and send it into the stomach ....if it's at high in the throat area an EMRT PRACTITIONER by working on the diaphragm the horse will cough and often will expel the blockage.. unfortunately this choke was further down and needed medical assistance which was not available .. so this poor horse had not eaten or drunk for two days.... I was in the background guiding them through the moves..... they were doing a fantastic job and we're doing exactly the right thing.... I would say he was quite relaxed with the EMRT first aid as it is designed to relax the horse and he did not struggle ... luckily he was eventually able to be tubed to get moisture down which remove the blockage ... His body relieved... he then went into shock ......not uncommon .after 50 hours of his body trying to rid itself of a foreign object ....the fight of flight response would have been on heightened alert too long .. the relief the body would have felt meant it went into shock.... luckily we have first aid moves for shock which were performed and half an hour later he had stop trembling and shaking and after a rest he will naturally seek fluid in cases of dehydration...molasses water is the best because it has glucose in it and glucose carries the fluid across the cell walls more easily than just water... the photo is of Mr Bean in a training session with me... I used this photo to demonstrate this neck stretched out... is often the presentation of the horse...they will stretch their neck out and down with often with the head stretched out.. sometimes they look a bit colickey .... there's no mistaking a horse with choke.... it can be fatal ....so pleased and so proud of these two who helped this choke horse ....and the others that also assisted in the survival of this beautiful boy .....it could have been a very different end to this story...

08.01.2022 HAPPY BIRTHDAY CCMRT (Cat & Canine Muscle Release Therapy -Small Animal Bowtech) 20 YEARS OF TEACHING 2001 - 2021 .. CCMRT started its research in 1997 when practitioners of EMRT Equine Muscle Release - Animal Bowtech were constantly being asked if they could treat the stable cat or dogs .... this lead to the years of research needed to be able to validate how the therapy worked in the body, where the moves of the therapy needed to be applied... and what results and respo...nses they would give ... My deepest thanks and appreciation goes to Dr Terry McEvoy the Vet I had been an Equine nurse for in his Brookfield large animal hospital 20 years prior.... for inviting me to be able to do this research under his guidance ..out of his Veterinary Clinics in the Brisbane valley .. to this day he still is our mentor and advisor for the Vet side of cases for me

08.01.2022 During the heat of last week.. this happened to a darling old horse ... he had come down with colic... there seems to be no apparent reason.. He was just outside of getting his Hendra vaccination and other result no vets would go to see the horse this is when often people call me I went through the OBS temperature.. heart rate.. respiration rate with the owner ...he was breathing ok.. but he was dehydrated in the pinch test and he had also had wormer the day before ....now w...ormer is a toxin ...and it affects the liver ...the liver regulates heat in the body and when the weather gets hot often the liver will get hotter and so needs to be cooled with plenty of fluid... another reason why we must keep our horses hydrated.... the liver dispels toxins from the body... these are diluted with fluid so if there isn't enough fluid the toxins can activate even more.... I suggest people do not worm their horses during the heat of Summer ...and it's probably best not to give them their vaccinations in the extreme heat.... vaccinations also can cause inflammation and with the hot weather it will only be exaggerated and aggravated.... vitamin C is a very good antitoxin and also I recommend using olive oil in the feed to stave off colic if dehydration could be an issue.... olive oil is a wonderful lubricant it also is very healing on the delicate digestive tissues.... all my horse's are going to get a couple of feeds with lots of olive oil in the next few days....that will help keep the poop go through in this prolonged heat wave they are predicting starting this weekend ... the beautiful colic boy had a very knowledgeable owner who was doing all the correct things for colic and with EMRT colic moves he soon got over it...bless him and His wonderful caring owners See more
