23.01.2022 KNOW THE LOCAL HAZARDS Black Rocks - DO NOT WALK ON BLACK ROCKS Did you know? A black algae grows on the rocks along the south east coast. It establishes... itself on rocks up to the high tide mark and is very slippery when wet. We urge everybody to avoid walking on black rocks at all times. A majority of sea search and rescues are from people slipping on the black rocks. If you slip into the water, stay calm, swim away from the rocks (don't try to get out how you fell in) and swim back into shore. A few tips on driving safely this harvest: Give trucks more space Trucks needs more time than a car to brake and stop, so always leave space in front of them, don’t cut in! Give trucks more vision There’s no periscope for truck drivers, stay out of their blind spots. If you can’t see their mirrors, they can’t see you. Drive with your lights on and always drive to the road conditions. Just remember, Trucks are King at this time of the year. Slow Down and Enjoy the Ride.

12.01.2022 We had the tasting plate, Mediterranean pizza, roasted vege salad and fish terrine - no regrets for any of them, all equally excellent. The detail of each dish was well thought out. Dessert (choc brownie and burnt basque cheesecake) was divine. Highly recommended - worth the drive.

01.01.2022 When you #wanderoutyonder these holidays, be prepared and know where the next fuel station is. When driving to from Perth to Esperance we recommend you take Rou...te 40, to Highway 1, through Ravensthorpe. A lot of people like the excitement of seeing outback Australia by taking the Lake King - Cascade Rd to Esperance. A warning about this gravel road: Your last chance to fill up with fuel is in Lake King. Mobile Coverage is intermittent. The road can be dangerous to drive on, so drive to conditions. There is NO FUEL, mechanics or tyre fitters in Casade. Wildlife is always on the move, so keep your eyes open. This road is very remote, so make sure you are fully prepared and geared up to drive it. Remember be sensible and drive safe on our regional roads. Also, Double demerits start today :)
