23.01.2022 St Patrick's College and their entire team of students and staff have been great supporters of Edmund Rice Camps and they are at it again! Have a look at this amazing effort by teacher, Jim Potts, who is rowing 7 marathons in 7 days! He's managed to convince another member of staff for each day to keep him company. We are so grateful of the support and energy to ensure Edmund Rice Camps Queensland can continue delivering positive impact in the local community!... This year, we stand together with the oldest civilisation in the world and affirm the notion and this years #NAIDOC2020 theme 'Always Was, Always Will Be'. Join us in learning more, this week especially, but every week with these resources: NAIDOC WEEK Website: https://www.naidoc.org.au/get-involved/naidoc-week-events SBS Feature Series: https://www.sbs.com.au/nitv/naidoc A simple 'like' or 'follow' in the right places, will give you accurate and credible information, not to mention inspiring. @NAIDOC Doing this can increase your awareness and knowledge in both the amazing connection Indigenous Australians have with the land and the devastating impact early colonisation has had on such a remarkable culture. 13.01.2022 With a 3- day Lockdown in the Greater Brisbane region about to start, a message from our sponsors- if our sponsors were weird mushy shapes coloured similar to the ERC balloon from our logo. Lockdowns can be tough, for everyone and that's completely ok. Keep each other safe, look after yourself and your loved ones, and reach out if you need anything at all- there is always someone there to help.

Nicks journey started at St. Brendan's College @stbrendansyep in Yeppoon, Queensland and he has remained connected to the vision of camps ever since. ... Nick has shaved his head before for Eddie Rice Camps so he isn't afraid to lose it all. Nick knows the cause is absolutely worth it! Support Nick by donating to his goal here: https://gf.me/u/y4jufd

06.01.2022 Today marks the end of NAIDOC Week 2020, but the conversation, education and connection doesn't have to stop here. We continue to commit to educating ourselves and each other, and here is a great way you can do just that. @reconciliationaus and their education program @narragunnawali must be in your school or early learning centre!... Many of our families, volunteers or staff never received any education around Australian history, and if they did, it often never referenced Indigenous Australians. We think it's time to change that. Check out the resources, and feel strong and comfortable asking your school if they offer an education program around reconciliation. https://www.reconciliation.org.au/narragunnawali

05.01.2022 How amazing is this! Young carers are the absolute unsung heroes of our community. The Carers Foundation Australia are dedicated to supporting and providing opportunities to #letkidsbekids and we couldn't agree more. Dan, who is featured here, has attended many Eddie Rice Camps. We know he loves guitar- once he learnt songs throughout camp and played an entire set for our final night camp fire! We are so glad he has received such an awesome opportunity.... Well done Dan and The Carers Foundation Australia.

04.01.2022 Our recent Family Camp has been featured in The Catholic Leader with a beautiful article around our return to service delivery following COVID-19 and the impact on new volunteers such as Bonnie. Read more about the program's success and Bonnie's journey here: https://catholicleader.com.au/flipbook/tcl_22112020

03.01.2022 30 years of Edmund Rice Camps in Queensland! Lets let that sink in for a moment... We have been delivering a unique style of peer- mentoring programs for three decades, and that is truly remarkable. ... A big reason why this has been possible, is the people we attract as our mentors, our 'Big Buddies' as we call them now, our volunteers. They give so much of their time, passion and energy to what we do because of the Why that we do it. And as you can see, our volunteers might have changed over time, certainly the fashion has, the Why has not. This year, we are celebrating 30, with a Gala Ball, and we would love all of our current and past volunteers to attend. Tickets are selling fast, and we've just released individual tickets, so get in touch with those volunteers you've shared an amazing camp experience with and book your seats asap. Tickets available here: https://www.trybooking.com/BPTQR Facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/268839308117250

01.01.2022 SAVE OR SHAVE 2020- Meet Dan. T Dan was Captain America on our most recent camp- so that gives you an idea on what we think about Dan. He is strong, loyal, compassionate and brave and we love that he continues to engage and volunteer with our organisation.... Dan has a heart of gold and is always focused on putting the kids and younger volunteers first. An amazing asset to our community and the children and families we support. Dan is also well known for loving his hair, and excitement is building at the prospect he may have to lose it all! At least he can sleep at night, knowing it's going to a great cause, directly to the programs we run and to an organise he cares about so much! Thank Dan and support him to reach his goal here: https://gf.me/u/y4js9g

01.01.2022 WELL DONE JIM! A huge congratulations and thank you to Jim and his team from St Patrick's College who have completed the 7 marathons in 7 days challenge. We are so grateful for the support and inspired by the dedication and perseverance to achieve such personal and physically gruelling challenges!... There's still time to donate and support these legends: https://www.bpoint.com.au/pay/StPatricksCollegeEvents
