25.01.2022 #wellnesswednesday Do you grow herbs? Thought I would bring my herb garden inside to enjoy. ... I re-potted my parsley plant into this pot I had laying around from gifted flower arrangements. I love using herbs and spices in my cooking and parsley is such an easy one to grow. Love adding it to potato dishes...yum! Not only is it yummy, it's filled with beautiful oils which have many health benefits. One of the things I love about this herb is the Antioxidants which help slow the aging process. It also supports inflammation within the body. Although more formal research is needed, there’s some evidence that parsley benefits may include help with; Oxidative stress/free radical damage Digestive problems, including irritable bowel syndrome Bad breath Bloating Poor immunity Skin problems Do you have a herb garden? Unhappy, unhealthy weight ...gain, my skin suffered and my mind was foggy. I had no energy and struggle to be the person I wanted to be for my family. 21.01.2022 Today's job....clean the oven not much fun, I know. My little tip for you... Use Lemon essential oil. It makes the job so much easier and healthier!!... No nasty chemicals! Any tough baked on greasy spots desolve quick and easily with a few drops of lemon oil. Leaves the kitchen smelling fresh and clean too! Other uses: Works a treat to remove sticky labels on jars or lunch boxes. Put a few drops in a jar with bicarb soda in your fridge to take away bad odours and leave it smelling fresh. 19.01.2022 Boy it's been a hard 2 months...but what's harder is realising that the 'normal' is fast approaching for so many. The juggle of kids, school, work, babysitters.......the 'Mum Life'. I know im not the only one that struggled. Mum's are struggling everywhere. Struggling with juggling working hours around the kids. Struggling with working a job we dont like. Struggling with our own health and putting family first. Struggling with the embarrassment of asking the boss for another day off. Struggling with the stress of money. Struggling with having no job. Struggling with our own health due to burnout. Mum's...you know exactly what I'm talking about. ...And Mum's who have additional needs children (like me)... I know no-one understands the extra pressures of motherhood like we do. I know how exhausted you are. I know you feel like you just want to sleep all day. I know you wish you felt healthier & happier. I know you hate having to choose work over your kids. I know you want less stress and more money. I know you wish there could be an easier way. Although self-care means different things to different people, there’s a basic checklist that can be followed by all of us: Create a no list, with things you know you don’t like or you no longer want to do. Examples might include: Not checking emails at night, not answering your phone during lunch/dinner. Enjoy a nutritious, healthy meal. Get enough sleep. Adults usually need 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Exercise. In contrast to what many people think, exercise is as good for our emotional health as it is for our physical health. It increases serotonin levels, leading to improved mood and energy. Follow-up with medical care. It is not unusual to put off checkups or visits to the doctor. Especially during the current lockdown conditions. Use relaxation exercises and/or practice meditation. You can do these exercises at any time of the day. Do at least one relaxing activity every day, whether it’s taking a walk or spending 30 minutes unwinding by reading a book or Do at least one pleasurable activity every day; eg. Baking, gardening, art or meeting with friends. Look for opportunities to laugh! Try setting up a 15-day self-care routine and see how you feel before and after. ....And never forget: As with everything, self-care takes practice!
