21.01.2022 30 MINUTE DRIVE. The only place in the world Jarrah forests are found is in Western Australias south west. Jarrah is a beautiful, and extremely rare timber, which is why it is highly prized by artists and furniture makers. One of the best places to see some of the regions finest hand crafted Jarrah furniture is at Jah Roc Galleries in the main street at Margaret River. Jah Roc source their wood from demolished bridges, warehouses and fallen trees which makes each piece unique, and quite pricey. The Gallery also has large exhibits of fine art, glass, sculpture and ceramic so its worth a visit if youre passing through the town.

14.01.2022 30 MINUTE DRIVE: Without a doubt, one the regions most popular attractions for adults and kids alike. First stop should be the bowls of free chocolate drops. Scoop as many as your hands can hold before heading to watch chocolate being made in the factory. What ever your taste in chocolate you'll find it here and it's not hard to over indulge (but isn't that what holidays are for?) www.chocolatefactory.com.au

11.01.2022 20 MINUTES DRIVE: Killerby Wines new cellar door on Caves Road in Margaret River is based on a General Store with a modern twist. So rather than just being another cellar door in a region with an abundance of cellar doors, the General Store format brings together wine with gourmet food and produce from around the region. Some of the goodies on offer include local cheeses, meats, seasonal orchard produce, coffee, jams, chocolate, olive oil and much more. The service is polished, the people are friendly and its another nice addition to the region.

10.01.2022 45-60 MINUTE DRIVE. The Berry Farm is a little out of the way, however the journey is worth it. First stop should be the gourmet shop where all of the Farm's famous jams, sauces and preserves are freely available for tasting. There is large playground to keep the kids entertained if you can drag them away from the jams. The best time to visit is around morning tea or lunchtime so you can enjoy the Farm's cafe. The cafe is housed in an old weatherboard cottage and is a real gem. It's authentic, honest food that doesn't disappoint. On the dessert menu, the Boysenberry Pie made with their own home baked shortcrust pastry, boysenberry coulis and fresh whipped cream is hard to go past. Visit www.theberryfarm.com.au for the café menus and opening times.

06.01.2022 10 MINUTE DRIVE: Injidup is a stunningly beautiful beach that rarely gets busy. From the carpark walk south along the shoreline and you'll find a cove protected from the sea breezes and a huge sand dune bordering the waters edge. Climbing is fun, but coming down on boogie boards is better. Smooth, rigid-bottomed boards work best and it's possible, with the right technique, to slide all the way out into the water. https://maps.google.com.au/maps/ms
