24.01.2022 A fantastic weekend of Etchells racing with the Fleet Championship closing out the season. Congrats to Ray Smith, Brad and Scott on The Cure for win on count back against Todd, Grant and Curtis on TAG and the boys from the goldie Ben Leigh-Smith, Jabin and Steve for taking out 3rd spot. It was such a closely contested regatta with only a few seconds separating the first 5-8 boats in most races. Photos to come soon. Well done everyone for such an enjoyable weekend on and off ...the water, and I can't describe how great it is to see the camaraderie between all the sailors on the dock, at the BBQs and Presentation. A big shout out to Tony Di Betta for taking home the 'Pick of the Fleet' award, a well deserved award for his and his crews commitment to the Fleet for well over 12 months. Also thanks to all the volunteers, RQ sailing committee and management and Etchells committee for all the work that goes on in the background to make this regatta (and the 2020-2021 season) happen so smoothly - we really appreciate it. 24.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We are all systems go for this weekend's training day. We are looking forward to having Vaughan Prentice from Norths Sails with us for the day doing some tuning advice on the dock and coach boat on the track. Here's the plan... 0900 - 1000 boats in the water... 1000 - quick briefing session with Vaughan 1100ish - first warning on the RQ Northern course 3 short races (single laps) with Vaughan doing a bit of coach boat observations 1400 - Debrief and BBQ at the hardstand It is absolutely critical that we socially distance and adhere to RQ COVID Safe Plan and if you feel remotely unwell on the day, please do not attend. Skippers - can you please RSVP (respond to this email) to confirm your attendance, conditions are looking fabulous. Cameron is coming down from Gladstone and Martin is planning to come down from the sunny coast to join us as well. Looking forward to catching up with everyone on Saturday. Cheers Jason Hawkins

14.01.2022 Let's Go Racing Hi Everyone, It's been TOO LONG since we were able to get out on the race track, so to shake out the cobwebs and COVID slump, we are hosting an informal "COVID CUP" on Saturday August 22nd followed by socially distanced BBQ at the hardstand with a few fun awards for those on the day!... Current plan (TBC) is 3 Sprint Races (1 lap each) to help us sharpen our starts and get ready for the start of the season in September. Start times TBA (but probably about 1200 with BBQ at about 4ish. Skippers please reply to express your interest in getting your crew on the water.
