18.01.2022 I was out installing information plaques for Frankston Council's Big Picture street art project this morning. It's a pleasant stroll looking at all the art. Some of it is truly amazing. One of my favourites is Alice in Wonderland & Nutcracker which is all around the library

17.01.2022 Its common for people to think that machines do everything these days but, in a small, versatile workshop like mine, there is still a lot of handwork to do

17.01.2022 This is a pine endgrain cutting board. The softwood is very kind to knives and is an economical choice compared to a hardwood board. Thanks to Womersley's Mitre 10 for having such high quality pine to make things from.

16.01.2022 Printing posters for local digital artist @_comicbookguy2099 . Head over to his instagram page and check his work

16.01.2022 The first round of stripping is done. It was amazing how much of the detail was filled in by the varnish

13.01.2022 Another custom sized hardwood endgrain cutting board ready to go to it's new home. This is 63 x 43 x 5cm

11.01.2022 Some lucky dad is going to have this custom 60 x 40 cm jarrah and vic ash endgrain cutting board for fathers day. Im really pleased with the design. These simple stripes are more difficult to achieve than I first thought. Got them right on this one with a new method.

11.01.2022 I finished this board yesterday. The colour of the jarrah is amazing and contrasts well with the vic ash. Its on the shelf for sale if anyonr is interested at 60 x 36 x 4 cm, its a big board that will last decades

07.01.2022 I made another leaf. This time I made a punch for the veins. Daryl Sweetten suggested making them napkin rings, so I did. Do people still use napkin rings?

07.01.2022 A new style of cutting board. I kept it really simple, just a 40cm piece of 25cm wide quartersawn Victorian Ash, sanded till its silky and oiled. There is some nice fiddleback grain in it too. I think Ill keep making this style, what do you think?

06.01.2022 A small batch of boards made and branded for a wholesale customer

04.01.2022 I made these sample mini cheese boards for a potential wholesale customer today. The light coloured ones are Tasmanian Oak and the dark ones are spotted gum and ironbark. If you have need of boards at wholesale prices, message me and we can talk about your needs

04.01.2022 Now that the original finish is off, we can see the details that were covered in a thick layer of varnish. It took 2 sessions with paint stripper and scrubbing brush to get to this stage. After it dries, the sanding begins. Im pumping a lot of calories into this. Cant use power tools for much on this job

03.01.2022 Making signs for Kannacook Cafe

03.01.2022 I made this ashes urn this week. The engraving turned out really well on my new laser. Memorial work like this is really quite rewarding, there is great value in making a grieving person smile.
