22.01.2022 Bulking Myths Debunked To gain size you have to eat A LOT of protein. After a certain point, protein intake stops increasing muscle growth and retention. It can have other benefits such as satiety but if your focus is solely increasing mass then 1.5-2grams of protein per kg of body weight is all you need. ... Bulking means you can eat all the junk food you want. Just because bulking requires you to be in a caloric surplus doesn’t mean it’s a free for all. If you want to maintain a healthy lifestyle (and make your life a lot easier when it comes round to cutting season) then ensuring your meals include a balance of macro and micronutrients is essential. You are more likely to gain a higher ratio of muscle to fat if you are clean bulking. You get fat when you bulk. When eating a calorie surplus you will gain some body fat; however, if you are following a meal plan that is full of nutritious foods this will be minimal in comparison to the muscle gained. There are definitely people that dirty bulk which results in a higher body fat percentage (as well as internal damage). You need to eat as much as you can! While you do need to be in a calorie surplus, this should not be an infinite number. It is important to establish a caloric goal based on your specific requirements. As we mentioned above, your body has a maximal capacity for synthesising protein into muscle. Anything over what is necessary for your body to build muscle will be stored elsewhere. . .
