25.01.2022 I am so sorry to announce that we have just heard the tragic news that our much loved guitarist Steven Bland passed away in his sleep last night. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his wife Annie and the rest of his family. Stunned.

25.01.2022 OK, this is the big weekend. Cleaning the sheds (bug bombing them tonight). Starting 10:00am Sat and Sun with snags,onions (on the bottom of course - Bunnings) and bread for lunch. All helpers welcome.

24.01.2022 Happy New Year. We're at it again! Planning is on for this year's show. BUT... we need more on-stage cast as well as backstage,musicians,kitchen staff and anything that you can contribute to the group. If you have any interest in being on-stage, call Ted Mills on 0411887191 to get involved. I will fill you in on the full EE schedule. Rehearsals start on Monday 6th April, Show dates are being finalised soon and we'll be doing 6 shows in October, probably 2 weeks of Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Raising funds for Camp Quality and Westport Primary school. Get involved.

24.01.2022 Oh dear. For the first time in 57 years, we're not going to have an EE show. The rehearsals can't go ahead because you can't have a gathering of more than 2 people unless they're related. All our scripts are nearly finished. The creative committee did a wonderful job of continuing until the last minute but rules are rules so we had to stop. So, we're well advanced for next year's rehearsals once they can start. At least we have videos of last year that we can chuckle over. Th...anks to all the EE supporters over the years and we hope to see you smiling and laughing when we get back on stage. Stay well and help your friends and neighbours so we'll all come out at the end ready to go again. I'll keep posting things to keep people up to date as much as I can. Still need more cast for the next show though. Our melodrama is running short of Indians (squaws and braves), our posse needs a couple of more cowboys to chase the bad guys so join us next year and we'll have a great time. See more

23.01.2022 A great finish to a great show. Fantastic night appreciated by our great audience. Everyone loved that the sound was great, the food was excellent and the cast were enthusiastic . More improvements already planned for next year. Cast being recruited ,helpers belong sourced and new material to be written. Thanks to all those who helped this year. Will be assessing all the results in a couple of weeks and discussing ways of implementing any constructive comments we have received. More work to be done tomorrow (Sunday). 9:00 start for anyone who likes pulling down things and packing things away. Might even be a couple of beers left over from last night. In moderation of course.

ETHELTON ENTERTAINERS are looking for new members and volunteers to assist us in performing this seasons show CARNIVALE on 20th and 21st September and 27th and 28th September. We are looking for lighting and sound operators, kitchen helpers, bar staff , prop production and any other theatrical position which you think you might be able to fill (we could even adjust an onstage role to suit your tale...nts). As long as you are over 18, enthusiastic and have the time to dedicate to us we would welcome you with open arms. Our proceeds go to Camp Quality and the Westport Primary School. The group has been going for over 50 years and we are determined to make sure that we keep going for another 50 years. 18.01.2022 EE AGM to be held at Westport Primary School at 7:00 Monday night 17th February. We welcome anyone who can commit to a lot of laughs combined with some hard work putting on 6 shows in October this year. Need on-stage , musicians and helpers who are able to assist in our fundraising for Camp Quality and other worthy causes.

17.01.2022 Sadly this week we lost our lovely Pat OToole. A founding member, Pat always kept us on track backstage and was our Treasurer for 50 years. We will miss you Pattie.

13.01.2022 Our costume shed cleanup is at the Westport school , West street Semaphore Park. I knew that. Sorry for forgetting such I vital piece of information for those that want to help.

13.01.2022 Costume shed being inventoried (er... itemised.... er.. sorted ...whatever) this Saturday between 9am and 12:00 ish. Any constructive help would be appreciated. Have started with 12 tubs of hats a couple of weeks ago. Maybe we can open a rental shop next year. Come and help wearing old clothes cos it gets dusty and dirty.

13.01.2022 Some early thank-youse in our work getting the show ready for the 20th ,21st ,27th and 28th. Firstly to Dom from ADTRADE INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIES who got us mobile with a wheel for our props trolley. Next a big thank you to Simon from UNITING TECHNOLOGY who is setting up (and running) our sound and lighting for the show. Also a big thankyou to all our helpers in the prop making department. Too many to list but you know who you are.

12.01.2022 For the next 3 Saturdays 10/8,17/8 and 24/8 , starting at 10:00am (yawn), we will be creating and painting props which we'll be using in the show starting on the 20th September. Any volunteers, movers,painters,lifters and helpers will be welcome. Anything from an hour to all day would be helpful. Lunch will be provided, We have a local artist drawing the outlines and we will be painting in colours by numbers (maybe just for me). Westport Primary School , West Street Semaphore Park.

10.01.2022 2019 show is almost completely written. Rehearsals start Monday 6th May 7:00 pm at Westport primary. Relaxed and ready for a good year with a lot of fun and laughs while we rejuvenate the EE image. Be ready for weekly updates, photos and info that you can like and share on Facebook to spread the word about the group.

08.01.2022 Again with the sad news. Saturday marked the passing of a past EE lady. To the friends and relatives of Sadie Tracey we send our best wishes in these difficult days.

07.01.2022 OK, I know, I know. I started this year saying there'd be weekly updates on what we're doing and this is the first time I've managed to get around to it. So, some important dates where we need helpers and volunteers and we'll even take people who only come to applaud our efforts. Weekend of 22/6 and 23/6 starting at 10:00am we're cleaning up, itemising our costume shed to take inventory of what we have actually got, Never been done in my time at the group so should be interes...ting to actually find out that we might have a costume we can hire/rent/use. Saturday 6/7 10:00am we're putting up the stage base ready for the school to use. Anyone with an hour or two (or four) to spare on any of those days would be welcome at Westport Primary. We still need helpers /performers onstage and workers backstage and front of house and in the kitchen for our shows (19/9 to 21/9 and 26/9 to 28/9). 07.01.2022 For those that aren't aware (as I wasn't). We recently lost one of our lovely ladies , Dawn Thulborn on 20th December. The funeral was held on 31st December. Unfortunately, I was in Mount Gambier and didn't hear about it until last weekend. Our best wishes are with the family and thanks to those who did attend on EE's behalf. RIP Dawn.
