20.01.2022 Wishing pool circuit is a short rainforest walk, located in Eungella National Park, Queensland. The entrance to the walk is located on Crediton Loop road (refer to pics). View glimpses of the river as you stroll along the trail and if you're lucky, you might even spot a Platypus swimming! Walking track conditions: Reasonably level track, but with rough surfaces, such as exposed tree roots! Moderate fitness level, wear ankle support footwear! 1.7 km circuit. Approximately 35-5...0 minute circuit walk. Road directions: Drive South from Broken River, then turn left onto the Crediton Loop road. The trail entrance is located on left hand side, about another 3 km further down the road- on a sharp bend before a bridge. Off street parking available on the opposite site of the road. A low level road bridge is situated just past the entrance to the walk- so if you reach the bridge, you've gone too far! 10.01.2022 Eungella National Park, Queensland, is considered to be one of the best places to see Platypus in the wild! When you reach the top of Eungella Range follow the signs to Broken River (a further 5 km drive down the road). Platypus sightings are particularly good from the 2 x observation platforms (one on either side of the road) and also from underneath the road bridge too (refer to pics)! Best viewing times are generally the hour before dusk and the hour after dawn, while ove...rcast and cloudy days can also be very beneficial for observing these unique, duck-billed creatures. Broken River is located inland from Mackay, just 85 km West. Travel by sealed road. #eungellanationalpark #platypus #activity #meetmackayregion #queensland #duckbilled #nature

Bring your own snags and take advantage of the picnic shelter & gas bbq. Too much effort to pack your own picnic basket? Then support local businesses by purchasing take-away food, drinks and snacks to eat near the water's edge. For recreational activities take a dip in the river (if you're bold ), stroll around & admire the a...rea and keep your eye's open for Platypus and bird life. Afterwards head out and explore the wider Pioneer Valley. There's a rubbish bin near the picnic shelter, but no toilets at Platypus Beach. #platypusbeach #recreation #pioneervalley #leisure #mirani
