After leaving Pioneer Concrete, a multi-national business I was running the concrete plant. I decided to start my own business. How did you come up with idea to start your business? I had been in close contact with some previous bosses (Rod Bates) and experienced friends (Paddy Kennedy Senior). They taught me a lot about the business world. What is unique about your business? We are a family business in an industry dominated by multi-national and national competitors. If you had one piece of advice for someone just starting out, what would it be? Work hard at what you know. What would we find you doing in your spare time? I spend time with my family and friends. I have become good at drinking coffee and having lunches. What’s something very few people know about you? As a young boy I spent time in an orphanage at St Josephs Home in Ballarat.
